Best Nose Hair Trimmer

The majority of the best nose hair trimmers on the market look similar to an electric toothbrush and operate in a similar way, with an on off button on the casing. There are also battery operated nose hair clippers and come with a range of accessories and power adapters.

The great thing about them being so small is that they are discrete too and can be stowed away in the bathroom cupboard if you feel embarrassed to own a nose hair trimmer or about buying one.

If you want to know how to use a nose hair trimmer, simply remove the top cover (if supplied) and turn it on. You will then need to gently insert the end up each nostril and rotate it around the outside wall, trimming the hairs back to a suitable length so that they will not protrude out and also so that they will still provide your body with the filtering and protection they were designed for.

Some nose hair shavers also come equipped with a light on the end, so you can see exactly what you are doing and will not miss any troublesome hairs that lurk in the dark corners of your nose. After the hairs have been trimmed as required, you can simply wash the trimmer using water. The casing on the trimmers is designed to be water proof and so this makes keeping the unit tidy very simple. For the trimmers that are more expensive, you can recharge the unit simply by placing it in the power adapter.

Again, this works in a very similar way to a electric toothbrush and because the unit is water resistant, it has no plug holes for cables. Everything is wireless. For cheaper and smaller units, simply open the casing as per the manufacturers instructions and replace the battery.

1. Never use scissors or yank them out.
Although they may seem like a great idea, borrowing your wife's nail scissors is not a good idea. One small jerk or slip and you could end up with a nasty cut or scrape, so put them back. Pulling the hairs out with your fingers whilst you drive to work can also lead to problems such as infections or traumatised hair follicles.

2. Go Slow.
The nose is a very sensitive place. Nose anatomy shows that in there you will find a whole bunch of nerves, cartilage, bone, blood vessels, glands and skin. You don't want to rush in there like you are mowing your lawn. Take it steady and easy. No sudden movements or you might find yourself in need of a visit to the doctor.

3. Not too often.
You do not need to use these trimmers every day. Save your daily grooming routine for brushing your teeth and moisturising that rugged face of yours. Once a week is more than enough, unless you are the kind of guy who grows a beard overnight. If you can see them when you look in the mirror, go for it.

4. Not too much off the back and sides.
Never remove all of your nose hair. Contrary to the design of these trimmers, getting rid of too much hair will be bad for your overall health. The nose hairs are there for a reason and if they are totally gone you leave yourself open to an increased risk of ingrowing nose hairs, allergy attacks, sinusitis or infections of the respiratory functions. If the hair falls below the line of the nostril, get rid of it. Anything else is just pure vanity.

5. After care.
You may remember your first shave. Boy, did that hurt! The same goes for these trimmers too. If your nose feels dry after a trim, get hold of some nasal spray and give it a blast. Not too much though as the nose and body will regulate the proper levels of mucus in there quite well.
