Desktop Nutrition Software At Your Fingertips
The best nutrition software could be argued but I found a program by a company called "Kelpiesoft" that details every nutrient possible that can be found on a food label. If you think this product is not the best thing since sliced bread please post a comment and share your opinion or if you've found another product that you feel is the best nutrition software please leave a link.Have you ever wondered how many calories are in a hamburger or vanilla milkshake? The fat content isn't marked on the packaging at a fast food restaurant which is a contrast from cigarette packaging with mandatory warning labels and graphic pictures of damaged lungs.
The saturated fat in a double cheeseburger is much higher than a whole wheat tuna sandwich but what about the nutritional details? If you're concerned about what you eat and want to count calories along with how much protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber and sodium in the food you eat, there's a free software tool available that will give you all this information and more.
It's called "Foodfile 1" that can be easily downloaded onto your desktop. It calculates all the nutritional value in every food imaginable from baby food to meats, fruits and even snacks. Fast food is a hot topic since it's contributed to a huge obesity problem that's getting out of control.
A large order of fast food french fries for example has 539 calories & 28 grams of fat [mostly saturated] that literally sticks to arteries & organs. In my opinion the best nutrition software should always include fast food since it's here to stay and a hot topic. People want to know the nutritional values of their favorite fast food... [that could change].
Here Is The Nutritional Information On A McDonalds Vanilla Triple Thick Shake:
A Medium 21 fluid ounce cup has 733 calories, 16 grams of protein, 125 grams carbohydrates [96 grams sugar!] and 20 grams fat [half that is saturated]. This information is very useful if you're considering a fat loss program. It would take a grueling day in the gym to work off this huge dose of fat and sugar.
Foodfile also has "food facts" like "high sugar content" or "low sodium content". The values are also displayed on a pie chart which is nicely color coded. It also has a list of groups you can choose from like meats, breads & vegetables and filters between low fat, low calorie and fat free for example.
If all you're looking for is the "folic acid" content you can sort that out before choosing the food type.

What Makes A Fat Burning Diet Work?
The Right Whole Food Is A Very Powerful Fat Burner.

A fat burning diet requires simple preparation, combining the right foods eaten at a set time on a daily basis. Low calorie diets may show success at first but a process known as a dieting plateau kicks in creating frustration and sending a lot of people back to old habits. What you need to do is know what foods are thermogenic and start a fat burning diet.
Starting a diet does not involve calorie restriction. You have to eat the right whole foods a minimum of 4 times a day every 3 to 4 hours. Keep reading to learn the basics of a safe & healthy diet.
Thermogenic fat burning foods are lean protein from solid foods including Fish & boneless, skinless chicken &
turkey breast.
Food Fact: 6 egg whites contain 21 grams of protein with no fat
Thermogenic is the body core rising caused by other sources creating calorie burning and higher metabolism.
What About Shellfish & Game Meats?
Game meats like buffalo, elk, venison and bison are very lean red meats similar to top round and lean sirloin (the free-range, grass fed and organic varieties are especially beneficial).
Most freshwater fish, shellfish and other seafood are an advantage as well. Natural and organic [not compulsory] egg whites [or egg beaters] without the yolks is another great protein source.
Artificial body fat loss products are not necessary when combining exercise and these fat burning foods. Losing your desired amount of weight is ten times easier after changing eating habits.
High Fiber Foods: Fat Loss Gold!
Broccoli, salad greens & cauliflower are great for the digestive system since the roughage they provide increases thermogenesis and greater levels of metabolism.
Food Fact: 1 cup of cooked Spinach has 42 calories with 6 grams of protein & only 1/2 gram of fat.
Fiber rich foods help increase the digestive path which in turn burns more calories. Drinking 8 glasses of water every day helps deliver nutrients throughout the body and cleanses as well. Too many refined foods, dairy products & fatty red meat will send you backwards on your body fat loss goals.
Vegetables and fruits are considered to be fat burning foods, consuming them raw or slightly cooked will keep all the nutritional values complete.
Essential Fruits Are A Big Piece of The Fat Loss Equation
Fresh fruit is an ideal selection for dropping pounds. Fruits are simple carbs, healthy natural sweeteners that give us that full feeling & nutritional requirement we need every day. People differ widely in their ability to process carbs.
Food Fact: 1 Apple contains 81 calories with 21 carbs and 1/2 gram of fat
Foods that burn fat refer to a particular type of food that either burns fat accumulated in the body or improves metabolism.
Including these types of foods in your established diet can easily burn the fat from your body and keep yourself fit and well.
Carbs: How Can They Help You Break Down Fat?
Green beans are one of the lowest low carb foods in the bean family. Whilst black beans, red beans, Garbanzo beans, and lima beans pack nearly 30 grams of carbohydrates into a serving, green beans register in at only 5 grams of carbs per 3/4 cup serving.
Due to eating only low carb foods, glycogen is used for energy, and this causes a decline in water weight. Also bare in mind that reducing carbs is also limiting calories.
Did You Know?
Ephedra or Ephedrine contained in a lot of sport energy supplements increases blood pressure and stimulates cardiac muscle. Do not use this product if you have heart problems, diabetes, have a thyroid dysfunction, or suffer from high blood pressure.
Stevia: A Widely Recommended Natural Sweetener
Stevia has gained active attention with the rise in demand for low sugar replacements. It's been used for centuries by indigenous South American tribes as a sweetener in yerba mate and medicinal teas for treating heartburn and other afflictions.
Food Fact: 1 tbsp of Natural Peanut Butter contains 100 calories and 8 grams of GOOD fat
Low carbohydrate nutrition became very fashionable a few years ago as research tied it's consumption with higher blood insulin levels with obesity.
It was a perception that these foods would lead to people using and burning away their fat storage for energy instead of carbohydrates.
An Important Reason Why Low Calorie Diets Don't Work.
Low Calorie Diets don't work since the human body adjusts immediately to decreasing calorie intake and slowing down metabolism to allow energy storage, namely fat.
When you think about exercise is it grueling workouts or a 30 minute walk around the park? Any kind of exercise is an advantage and once you get moving your body will respond. We were not created to be inactive, cardiovascular & strength workouts like yoga, hiking or lifting weights in the gym will melt away the pounds.
Eating a minimum of 4 meals daily every 3 to 4 hours keeps your metabolism levels above par and you'll have a full feeling throughout the day. Following that arrangement along with planning and exercise is the key behind a fat burning diet

low calorie diets sure don't work and as you said, we're created to be active. Our ancestors had to be active to survive - they need to hunt for food, run away from dangerous predators. But now all this activity is taken away and it's killing us.

!0 Ways To Jumpstart Your Weight Loss Plan
Finding the best way to diet is one thing but success also depends on what your goals are and how dedicated you want to become. Eating healthy whole foods at the proper intervals boosts metabolism and turns your stomach into a fat burning furnace. These 10 tips for the best way to diet will give you a good start to your fat loss plan.1) Eat Whole Foods that don't have a lot of fat and carbohydrates. They must have low saturated fats and low sugar content. When you read a food label check the saturated fat and sugars which will be listed as grams. Some liquid meal replacement drinks have as much as 24 grams of sugar.
2) Drinking 8 glasses of water a day between meals not only gives you that full feeling but flushes harmful toxins from your body. Water also acts as a transport system for nutrients to reach all areas of your body. If your urine is not clear you are in a dehydrated condition.
3) Protein provides the building blocks of your body and supports organ and tissue growth. Protein must come from a low fat, high quality source like chicken and turkey breast, egg whites & fish.
Food Fact: 4 oz of Atlantic Salmon has 206 calories, 28 grams protein, 0 carbs and 9 grams of fat (classified as good fat)
4) Balance your meals - 4 or more meals a day every 3 hours should be divided into thirds with lean protein (40%), complex carbohydrates (40%) and healthy fats (20%). This combination of food is 100 times more powerful than any diet pill or supplement on the market.
Multiple meals every day increases metabolism and fat loss making this method the best way to diet.
5) Avoid processed foods - These products (usually ready in 20-30 minutes) are packed full of preservatives and high levels of fat, sugar and salt. Low fat products are a big industry now so if you must eat them read the nutrition labels for higher than normal fat or sugar content.
Food Fact: 1 cup of Blueberries contain 82 calories with 20 grams of carbs & .6 grams of fat
6) If you're not eating enough calories you'll not only lose muscle, you will also lose energy and endurance. Naturally you won't be able to get through a workout with lack of strength. Your body will also adjust to a calorie deficiency and slow down metabolism (the ability for your body to burn calories).
7) Recommended Protein Foods: Skinless Chicken & Turkey Breast, Cod, Egg whites, Atlantic Salmon, Buffalo (top round), Beef (top round & top sirloin), 96% Lean Ground Beef, Tuna (canned in water), Shrimp.
Food Fact: 4 oz of Tuna canned in water has 26 grams of protein & only 1 gram of fat
8) Recommended Complex Carbohydrates: Oatmeal, Cream Of Wheat, Kidney Beans, Lentils, Shredded Wheat, Kashi Cereal, Yams, Whole Wheat Pasta, Whole Wheat Bread, White Potatoes, Brown Rice, Wild Rice.
Food Fact: 1 cup of cooked Spinach has 42 calories with 6 grams of protein & 1/2 gram of fat
9) Recommended Fibrous Carbohydrates: Asparagus, Broccoli, Brussell Sprouts, Cauliflower, Collard Greens, Carrots, Cucumber, Green Pepper, Green Beans, Kale, Lettuce, Onion, Mushrooms, Peas, Spinach, Tomato, Zucchini.
Food Fact: 1 cup of cooked Spinach has 42 calories with 6 grams of protein & 1/2 gram of fat
10) Recommended Fats: Avocado, Almonds, Cashews, Canola Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Ground Flax seeds, Peanuts, Natural Peanut Butter, Olive Oil.
Food Fact: 1 oz of almonds have 170 calories with 6 grams of carbs, 5 grams of protein & 15 grams of GOOD fat
The best way to diet could be argued but these methods have stood the test of time. Eating whole food gives you a full feeling all day and boosts your metabolism. No one should have to starve themselves thinking less calories means less weight gain. Your body will do all it can to fight calorie restriction by storing fat and slowing down metabolism.
