Best of Golf Movies

Tin Cup:
Reunited with Bull Durham writer-director Ron Shelton, Kevin Costner puts down his bat and picks up a putter. Psychologist Rene Russo inspires golf pro Costner to hit the Professional Golfers' Association tour. Too bad she's dating Costner's nemesis (Don Johnson). The question of whether true love with Costner will prevail takes a backseat to another query: Does it pay to play by the rules?
Bobby Jones, Stroke of Genius:
In this biopic, Jim Caviezel portrays Bobby Jones, the legendary golfer who received the title of Grand Slam Champion by winning the British Amateur, the British Open, the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur in just one year -- 1930. After defeating an illness in his youth, Jones went on to become a record-breaking champion at just 28 years old. Also an accomplished scholar, Jones obtained two college degrees and graduated from law school.
Caddyshack:
All hell breaks loose when a wisecracking, parvenu land developer (Rodney Dangerfield) wants to covert a swanky country club into a condominium community. Chevy Chase costars as a suitably droll, well-heeled slacker who uses Zen philosophy in his golf game, while psychotic greenskeeper Bill Murray launches an all-out war against a relentless gopher. Ted Knight (as a dyspeptic club bigwig) plays straight man.
The Legend of Bagger Vance:
World War I has left golfer Rannulph Junuh (Matt Damon) a poker-playing alcoholic, his perfect swing gone. Now, however, he needs to get it back to play in a tournament to save the financially ravaged golf course of a long-ago sweetheart (Charlize Theron). Help arrives in the form of mysterious caddy Bagger Vance (Will Smith). Director Robert Redford's adaptation of Steven Pressfield's novel includes Jack Lemmon's unbilled final performance.
Happy Gilmour:
Adam Sandler stars as a failed hockey player who discovers that his slap shot translates into one heckuva golf swing. Desperate to earn money to save his grandmother's house, he takes his powerhouse swing (and his hockey mouth and brawling attitude) onto the PGA tour. Full of goofy humor (including the now-famous Bob Barker fight sequence) and side-splitting mockery.
