The 24 and 27 inch monitors are the most popular at present. If space is an issue and you are going to be sitting close to the monitor, don't buy an extremely large one, unless you are planning to do graphic design or video editing, for these kinds of uses, you may need a bigger one.

Green ScreenViewSonic monitors are very green monitors that use far less energy than others in the market. If you have a small business with several monitors, the energy savings quickly stack up. If you combine this with its modest price tag, the VX2450WM is a very attractive monitor for businesses.

Unfortunately, the image from the ViewSonic VX2450WM is not quite as sharp as other great monitors. It displays movies quite well but when playing computer games, it lacks the depth of color I would expect from a top range monitor.

ASUS thinMy pick as the best cheap LED monitor of 2012 is the ASUS ML238H 23-Inch monitor. This design has for once got a stand that actually works and though it only swivels with a vertical tilt, it actually does support the unit (which is very light anyway) very well.

The ASUS ML238H is a classy piece of equipment, to look at. With great picture quality, It performs just as it claims to do. Even the touch sensitive buttons are as responsive as they are meant to be. This is a welcome feature as all too often these buttons don't work as well as they should do and feel sticky to the touch.

This monitor definitely gives you value for money and anybody who buys one will not be disappointed with their purchase. The ASUS ML238H will add style to any desktop.

This 23 inch monitor comes with 3D support and can be used for loads of things. It is ideal as a general screen, for your DVD player, games console or connected directly to your PC. It comes with all the equipment necessary for 3D, all in one package. The ASUS VG236H is one of the first with this particular 3D technology. It has a good quality, crisp picture which bring games to life and the colors stay strong on the screen without distorting.

At 15.4 pounds the VG236H, is heavy but it's not bulky in size. It fits in easily in most places and is stable on its base.

The ASUS VG236H is a sturdy monitor with reasonable sound quality which looks quite nice. The only real potential problem is that at times the drivers can be a little tricky to install but it is worth the trouble.

MACApple has produced a monitor that will give serious competition to all the other ones in today's market. The display of this model is tremendous and colors & resolution are just as good. The whole package is by far one of the best high end deals around today. It's very easy to set up and the rear ports are just what are needed with USB. Display Port and MagSafe Power Adaptor for pass-thru power, are terrific additions to the whole concept that Apple have developed.

This monitor looks great and works very well. Apple has put a lot of thought into its design and it certainly shows. Some people have expressed a bit of concern over the gloss finish, but this is picking on an insignificant point as it's not an issue at all, matt finishes are quickly becoming slightly outdated anyway. The new gloss finish ads style to a very well conceived design.
