No one wants to be alone. It can be awful lonely. But it's scary trying to meet new people especially if you're shy and introverted. So how the heck do you meet people if you're scare to go out and do things? FRICK!
There are tons of ways for you to start branching out and get out of your little shell and start interacting with the rest of the world. I had to do it after I got divorced and wanted to start dating again. AHHHH!!
Talk about a rude awakening. A lot had changed since I had dated. I learned it wasn't called dating much anymore. It was called hanging out. Seemed much more relaxed and much less commital. So you can hang out and not go on a date. Dating was back in the 1990s. :o)

You want to know one of the best places to meet women is? At school. Go back to school and there are tons of women there. Well, it's not real school. But it is a class. Cooking classes. I took a few classes when I first started trying to meet people and there was usually one a few guys and the rest was all women. Some older, some younger, some married and some single.
But what made it great was that you had to interact with the other members of the class while you were making your meals. So this gives you a great way to ease the tension and break the ice. You have a very easy conversation starter. "Do you know how to cook?" "What do you like to cook?" Easy stuff like that.

Meeting new people is one thing, starting and keeping a conversation going is another. Walking up to someone and approaching them is only half the battle, you have to have something to say to get them interested in spending more time listening and talking with you.
Fortunately, conversation skills can be learned. There are several books teaching how to talk to people. I have an abnormal sense of humor and one of the top things women say they like is a guy with a good sense of humour. So if you can learn how to make a girl laugh then you're doing good. But, you don't want to overdo it and be seen as just a clown who knows a lot of jokes.
