What criteria should you use to pick products that will teach you how to train your dog?

These three are the basic dog training areas; obviously there are additional topics such as agility or guide dog training as well as specific techniques like clicker and positive dog training.

Rate The Product Using Criteria Such As . . .
1. The best product about how to train your dog is visual - a "show me" dog training tool. That would most likely be a dog training video or DVD or a book with lots of illustrations and examples.

2. The techniques used in the product must work and work well on all breeds of dogs. Product reviews, testimonials, and personal references will give you a good idea if the techniques really work.

3. The product must be easy to use with understandable (not cutesy) topic areas.

4. The product must be created or written by an expert in the topic area, preferably certified dog trainers or other recognized experts.

If the product is a chew toy or training tool such as a dog harness, then #2 applies as well as other criteria like durability (toy, dog harness).
