My pumpkin pie is always the first thing from the Thanksgiving menu that disappears every year. A delicious pumpkin pie recipe is a traditional addition to any holiday dinner.

My Best Pumpkin Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 (14 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (15 ounces) can pumpkin puree
2 large beaten eggs
1 egg white, beaten
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
(Or eliminate all of the spices except 2 teaspoons cinnamon and use 2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie spice as a substitute.)
1 regular 9 inch unbaked pie shell
optional: whipped topping, whipped cream, or ice cream
Mix everything except the egg white together with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Before filling, brush the egg white over the entire pie to avoid a soggy pie crust. Then pour the pumpkin pie filling mixture into the pie crust. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to have a nice, golden pie crust.
Bake the pumpkin pie in a preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. After 15 minutes, reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the pie for 40 minutes more or until set.
The pie will be done when it doesn't jiggle. A good way to test if your pumpkin pie is done is to insert a knife into the pumpkin filling about an inch from the edge of the pie crust. If the knife comes out clean, your pumpkin pie is done.
Cut the pie into slices after cooling. Add any desired toppings, such as ice cream or whipped cream.
