A Brief History Of Reflexology aka Zone Therapy
Precisely how old is the concept of reflexology? If you are planning to follow a brief history of the therapy, then you'll learn this practice continues to be around after 1000's of years.
Use of reflexology as a therapy can be tracked to many countries like India, China as well as Egypt. There's even that wall painting that's been discovered in Egypt that shows two males focusing on the feet and also the hands of two males.
It is really an early indication that in Egypt throughout that point, this type of treatment was already being practiced. You will find some evidences too that could indicat the first adoption of the therapy in China.
Everything began originally with 'Zone Therapy'
If you are planning to find reflexology in western culture, then you'll realize that the recognition of the type of therapy could be tracked at the beginning of the nineteen thirties. But dating back to the 1913, this type of therapy had been discovered and applied, but it was then known by another name. It was first referred to as 'Zone Therapy' also it was the American surgeon named William Fitzgerald who first analyzed these.
Within the studies carried out by Dr. Fitzgerald, he noted that you will find zones that may be found about the hands, the feet and also the tongue of peole, and that each one of these zones are linked or attached to the various areas of the body.
The doctor discovered that placing pressure on these zones will have an impact in reducing as well as in treating any discomfort.
The formal introduction of the modern idea of reflexology within the western culture happened within the nineteen thirties. Which is made possible with a counselor named Eunice Ingham. Ingham furthered the first study which was produced by Fitzgerald and required removed from that. Depending on her findings, she stated that tension that may be felt within the feet may also be shown within the tension on another area of the body.
Now by using this type of thinking, she stated that by dealing with a number of regions of the feet then your pains which are removed through treatment of the foot would also be reduced in the associated organ.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Wonderful Product!!!!", August 29, 2011 By C. Sweeny -
"I have owned my foot massager for 2 years. I use it while I am on the computer-like right now:) I own a business and am on my feet all day-I look forward to my evening massage! I even bought one for a fellow business owner for xmas last year.
FYI-It glides better if you wear socks with it. The heat setting is very relaxing. I highly recommend this product! "

- My former husband and I taught ourselves Reflexology from a book. We used it all the time and it was a great help when I had allergy attacks. We aren't together any more and when I worked at a big store, my feet hurt so much I hobbled home and cried. I got myself a Homedics Shiatsu Foot Massager and it saved the day. I actually bought it for my daughter who is a nurse but begged to have it back. It would be a great thing to add to your Amazon list.

- Reflexology is something that everyone should try I think. Especially for people who are too shy to try a traditional body massage for the first time, they can try a foot treatment as a first step.
And anyone taking a home study course for giving Reflexology would have to be the most popular friend in their group.
