These are the books that I consider to be among the best that are available. Most of these I have in my own home library.

Why are there so many books?
When I first learned Reiki back in the early 1990s it was still relatively unknown. It hadn't become as talked about as it is today.Since then attention to Reiki has grown exponentially, and so have the number of books written about it.
The varieties of Reiki have increased as well as people combine healing systems and branch away from Reiki as it was taught by Mikao Usui. This is not to say that such methods are not as good, they are merely different.
My training and teaching has been in the Usui Shiki Ryoho method as developed by Mrs Takata when she brought Reiki to Hawaii and from there to the mainland USA. As I continue my training my focus has been on the original system as taught by Usui himself.
From this I have put together this list of what I believe to be the best books about Reiki.

- I have the book by Christopher Penczak as well as Dianne Steins, while hers is full of good info, after years of practice I prefer Christopher's views and teaching.

- I love your selection of books! I have been practicing Reiki for 8 years and have recently been attuned as a Reiki Master from a wonderful women who has her own Reiki Center in India. I love that you're helping to spread the light and universal healing energy of Reiki.
