My Best (Favorite) Songs for Running on the Treadmill (or Road)
I find that I actually run more easily AND faster if I have an upbeat, fast-moving song playing on my iPod while I run. After a while though you get tired of listening to the same songs. Since I'm always looking for good running songs, I thought I would share the ones on my iPod Playlist. These help me run FAST!. Do you have some favorite running songs? How I Get Motivated to Run
Even on a Treadmill
My favorite way to get inspired to run is to have a friend to go with. Once I've agreed to run with someone, I absolutely do it. Secondly, I'm a running talker (people sometimes say a bit TOO much of a talker) and the time just goes faster when I'm having a chat with a friend.BUT... what to do when your schedule doesn't allow you to have a running buddy (or you don't know anyone who is interested in going or going at your pace).
The bargain I strike with myself is that I will run at least one mile. After that I can stop without apology. Usually what happens is that when I hit the mile mark I opt to go further. Occasionally because of time or I'm just not into it that day, I only go a mile. But, going one mile almost every day is a huge health boost, both for the mental/emotional boost I get and the metabolism kick

Great Movies to Watch While Running on Treadmill
If you are lucky enough to have a setup where you can put a movie on to watch while you run on a treadmill, then these are what I recommend. You'll see they are not all "running movies", but they all have a sports theme and should get you motivated. And I just realized, all are based on true stories.

Make Running and Listening to Music Even Better
Cool Watch Let's You Control Your iPod without Stopping Running
My husband gave me one of these watches -- Timex Ironman IControl for iPod and they are awesome. Basically you put a little gizmo (okay it's a remote control) into the bottom of the iPod. When I say little, it is about a half-inch or so square. Then when you run and you are listening to a playlist, just bump the button on one side of your watch to skip a song (you know how some days a certain song just isn't what you wanted to hear). Or if you have a song that you are TOTALLY into and your suddenly flying along.... well just hit the button on the other side of the watch and it will replay. You can keep RUNNING, yeah!
Ever have traffic pick up and now you can't hear your songs that well? Another button bump and you turn the volume up. And still you run on.... Well I hope you get the idea.
My husband bought me this and I love him dearly for it. But I liked it so much I've gotten ones for my kids (I know, you can't believe I'm that old). You can save quite a bit buying one off Ebay (since I think the list price is about $100), but I would only buy new and from someone with a good rating.

- Thanks YH. I added your 3 suggestions to my lists. They did sound like they had a pretty strong beat and up-tempo, so good running songs. I like to change my playlists from time to time to keep it interesting, so I'm always glad for input.
