Limits to spirituality?
Is world peace possible? Forget religion!
Should real spirituality be free?
Is real spirituality free?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byYes, money and spirituality can't mix
andrasnm says:
Yes, because knowledge is our birthright. We do not need a priest, a guru or a rabbi to tell us what to think, what to eat and when to make love :)
You cannot sell god as a sack of potatoes and if you do so your karma will get a brownie point. (which is negative!)

JaguarJulie says:
Real spirituality should come from within the individual as in spirit and that should always be 100% free.

0ctavias0fferings says:
Yes, it should all be freely available and easy to find.
Posted August 22, 2008
No, everybody has to live, and that takes money
ICanCook says:
It should be a free-will offering. The person providing the spiritual guidance needs to know that all their needs will be met and should not focus on making a living.
Posted November 13, 2010
0ctavias0fferings says:
Except where there are materials involved - materials cost money so there needs to be a realistic charge.
Posted August 22, 2008
says:
Everyone likes to hear an idealistic point of view that says that all spiritual teachings should be free, but this is not practical in the modern world. People do not appreciate what is freely given, there must be an exchange of energy for it to have value. That can be money, work, time, or effort of some kind.

The case against religion
If you agree, or even if you don't, feel free to click through and share your favorite anti Christian and anti religious quotes.
All religions are ultimately ONE
So, do you feel that the differences between the various religions are important, or clutter?
Are the differences between the religions important?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byYes, the differences are what make them unique.
ICanCook says:
Yes, the differences are important. The basic role of many religions is to control people in society, therefore you will find each one with the various different rules for how people should live.

RosaAmarilla says:
When people wage war, condemn others, feel the need to convince others to worship as they do, and all the other things that happen in the name of religion, the differences do matter. No matter how similar the core messages may be, if the difference means one side believes they are the only right ones and the other side is misguided (at best) or evil (at worst), it matters. I think people who talk about all religions really being the same are actually thinking of spirituality. Spirituality is inclusive and seeks truth wherever it may be found.

atsakiris says:
yes... otherwise they'd just be a purely spiritual pursuit of the divine... and we wouldn't want that :)
Posted December 03, 2009
No, the central message is the same.
andrasnm says:
Religion is institutionalized, it has an "anointed" spokesperson but often that person is a babbling idiot. We all have the answers embedded in our soul/spirit/subconscious and we do not need someone stranger to tell us what to think and how to live.

MedicalWhistleblower says:
In all religous experiences we seek to find the meaning of our own lives and our connectiveness to the universe.
Posted September 04, 2008
says:
Religion does not exist to be interesting. Religion is slavery for the mind and has long outlived its usefulness. It is time to move on to a more realistic and open view of spirituality. Religion and spirituality are not the same thing.

Spiritual Lenses - without dogmas
So do you agree? Is spirituality without dogmas the best?
Is spirituality without dogmas better than spirituality WITH dogmas?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byNo, dogmas are necessary: they are the truths I believe in!
Yes, dogmas hinder one from finding the truth - spirituality without dogmas is best!
andrasnm says:
Yes, absolutely true. Truth is a pathless venue, but if you MUST - follow the Masters like Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Mohamed etc. but others, just take what they say with a grain of salt. Everything else is just dust on the road......

sangemaru says:
The whole concept of dogma basically excludes spirituality, since it excludes growth and the fact that what may be right for one is definitely not right for others.

Ener-G says:
Swami Beyondanda says it's better to park your karma and leash your dogma.
Posted August 23, 2008

If there is dogma attached, it is no longer spiritual, it has become a religion. Dogma is about control and keeping people from thinking for themselves.
Posted July 24, 2008
sirkeystone says:
Definately. The less dogmas the more unity we start to see. When we agreew to disagree, we start to understand the others point of views. Easier to wear the other person's moccasins.

- The money thing. There are too many people who thing :spirituality is a business. It is not. If you need to make a living you'd have a choice GET A JOB or start a business but THAT should not include peddling g-d or enlightenment, when you do that you are prostituting IT and yourself. There are plenty of ways of making money but that should exclude Spirituality.

- Your position, in the extreme, would mean that people can't devote their whole lives to spirituality unless they're heirs to great fortunes or something. In practice: people have to make a living. Obviously money should not be the motive for teaching, for writing books or any of that. However, to say that in this world money should only flow towards the non-spiritual is like denying that spirituality needs roots in this world.

- I love to belong to a spiritual group but all my efforts at finding a church have failed because of the dogmas. Now I simply acknowledge God everyday in my own very special way and I know he is ever beside me as my constant companion. (One church told me that until I am baptized in their church God would not and could not be my constant companion. To that I say crap. I feel his presence right beside me everyday).

- I definitely don't like the idea of anybody telling me what I have to believe.
I do like TheLovingGod's quote and I like your ever.com lens which I've blessed.
(Found your ever.com lens. The hardest part was finding the ever.com main page. Once I was there, finding yours was not hard.)
