How to Win on Star Wars: Empire at War/Forces of Corruption

How to Easily Win on Star Wars: Empire at War/Forces of Corruption
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

These tips will show you how to very easily win an Empire at War/Forces of Corruption battle without very much effort. It sometimes even works against Hard AI (Artificial Intelligence).
[edit] Steps
  1. Select your space station and press these buttons in the same order: Control+1 (Not the plus(+) button). Now, even in the middle of battle, you can just press the 1 button to select your space station.
  2. Now buy some fighters, which would be either X-Wings, Tie Fighters/Interceptors, or with the Consortium on the Forces of Corruption expansion, some StarViper squadrons or SkiPray Blastboat squadrons. Then get the station upgrade.
  3. Once your fighter squadrons are ready for deployment, deploy them and send them to help capture some mines for needed resources. Then send some of your fighters to any other mines on the map and to your enemies mines to destroy them and weaken your enemy.
  4. If there are any Merchant docks on the map, send a few of your fighters there. If you manage to capture the Merchant dock, you are able to get pirate fighters, pirate frigates, and IVP patrol crafts which can easily destroy fighters. This will greatly help you destroy your enemies mines and protect your mines from attack.
    • This is helpful, because you get your faction's Corvettes with a level 2 space station. So it gives you an advantage over enemy fighters. Also, when you have destroyed you enemies' mines, keep an IVP hiding near the mine, but not close enough to capture it. Once your enemy tries to re-build the mines, your IVP craft will instantly destroy it.
    • This strategy keeps your enemy extremely weakened by lack of resources, so then they can't get any ships to combat yours, and also makes sure that your opponent can't get any extra resources very quickly, leaving them easy to defeat.

  5. Once your opponent has no mines or ships, you can start to attack their space station. To easily destroy it, get some bombers or a few Acclamators (if you are the Empire) which have a garrison of fighters and bombers. Also, if you wish, get extra bombers to destroy your enemies space station faster, and get about 5-10 fighter squadrons to distract your enemies' fighters/bombers/corvettes/and space station. This also keeps them away from your bombers which are easily destroyed.
  6. When attacking your opponent's space station, attack the shield generator first, with your bombers. This allows your fighter and Acclamators' lasers to destroy the station's hard points. When the shields are up, the lasers arn't able to hurt the hard points, but with the shields down, you can destroy the station much faster.
  7. Then destroy the hanger, which is useful in campaign, because then your enemy can't spawn ships which may threaten you fleet. After the hanger, go for Communications Array, which will make your enemies mini-map useless. After that, go for any shield-penetrating weaponry.
  8. Go for the Proton Torpedoes first, because they cause the most damage to your Frigate and Capital Ships' hard points. Then destroy the Concussion Missile launchers. Then destroy the Turbo Lasers, then the Laser Batteries, then any left over hard points.

[edit] Tips
  • When you begin the battle, you start out with 2 fighter squadrons. Use them to capture mines and/or Merchant dock(s).
  • Always have some form of defense at your mines.
