We have had our new screen door for about 3 months and now the screen won't roll up. Is there an easy fix for this, or do I have to return it or purchase a new one?
  • CreativeArtist Mar 14, 2012 @ 11:22 pm | delete
Chris, I don't know if there is an easy fix for that. Definitely contact the manufacturer and or the company where you purchased it.

You know, I think we had something like this when I lived in Ohio. Right now, I just have a regular window door on my Florida Room. Very practical.

Oh, I am so glad you wrote this article! I have wondered about these screens. My puppys want to go out at some of the most inopportune times, like when I am reading lenses :) I never trust the paid advertisements, but I definitely trust you to tell me the truth. Awesome!

Great door for the first 6 months, then both screen door closers broke, and now the spring inside broke and the screen part separated from the glass door part. We're stuck with a door that's half wide open like a barn door (no screen any more, and the glass half can't be lifted up). Larson customer service won't replace anything.

Ellen, sorry to hear about your experience. We've had ours for over a year now and are still quite satisfied. Everything still works.

Same thing happened to us with the door. Screen won't retract and when I contacted Larson I was told that about all i could do to fix it was order a new screen for $40. The door is only 6 months old. We were happy with the door until this happened.

I wish you had received better service.

WE have a great storm door on the front, but could use one on the back...

We're looking at screen / storm doors for our Vermont home. The cats would really appreciate a screen away ... will check them out.

We have a storm door like that and it's been great. I love being able to convert the door from a screen door to a glass door just by sliding the glass part up.

It makes it so much easier, doesn't it.

Some brilliant ideas on the best storm doors.

This is a great idea! We still have the kind where we replace the screen with the window and vice versa with those little screws that get lost. Definitely going to look out for one of these Larson Storm Doors with a Retractable Screen.
