Flash Lights, although often taken for granted, would be a luxury in a Zombie

Apocalypse. In a world without power, or limited power, it can become incredibly dark. On Nights without moonlight, lighting would be essential to not tripping over your own two feet, or worse, having a zombie grab your two feet. Although you must be careful with flash lights, as Zombies can spot the light and be attracted to it, it also has a limited battery unless you purchase a crank-able, or shakable flash light (As Displayed Above). In a World that is filled with the Undead and virtually empty and extinguished of human life, even the small things that remind us of the old world would be welcomed, light is psychologically proven to reduce fear, anxieties, and all around increase morale. It also serves a much greater purpose, being able to scavenge and clear buildings, as stated above, if there is no power, a building can become incredibly dark without any light, virtually impossible to move around in without night vision or some sort of light generator. Don't be left in the dark, literally.

Food and Water are essential to survival in the wilderness, it is definitely one thing

we take for granted in our civilian lives. We have almost a direct supply to water, and we can easily access groceries at the grocery store. What happens when those connections are stopped? Will you know how to forage for food or purify water? For those of you who don't, and simply can't fathom being able to survive and forage in the wild, then purchasing food and water beforehand will give you ample time to prepare yourself and learn. I would recommend reading survival handbooks on how to survive in the wild, or at least purchase them for on hand knowledge. A human being can only survive an estimated seven days without water, much longer without food, but water is a necessity. People generally don't take into account the amount of water it takes to keep water weight off and your body from thinking it's in a desert, most people suffer from water deficiency, and it would be hazardous surviving out in the wild. Any water drank from a stream or lake, must first be purified to remove any chemicals, bacteria, or even parasites. On top of that, you will never know what has come into contact with that water, it could be a Zombie, or even just a dead animal, making the water poisonous to drink, causing death, or worse, undeath.

First Aid, Bandages, even Disinfectant become scarce in a time of destruction

and chaos. These are a necessity to stock up on for any disaster, especially a zombie one. Although none of this will save you from being bitten, there are other circumstances where they will be needed. With no functioning hospitals, you really don't want to go there to seek medical attention for a gash or cut, unless you want your doctor to operate...with his teeth. Save yourself the trouble of foraging for medical supplies and putting yourself in danger, and get them beforehand. Cuts, bruises, broken bones, all of those hindrances in our world will become deadly in the Zombie Apocalypse. If you have ever been out in the wild, you know how hard it is to keep a cut clean when you're forced to forage for food, collect firewood, or even dig. A cut in the wild becomes multitudes more deadly, even a small cut can become infected and effectively cause you to have a fever and die. That is why first aid is important, not just bandages, but disinfectants and alcohol to keep the wounds sterilized, bandaged, and cleaned. Anything can happen in our every day lives that put ourselves at risk of being hurt, they become much more likely when we are stressed, scared, and not paying attention.

Fire, one of man's first creations. Taken for granted by those who have it at a flick of their finger tips, or perhaps a button, but Fire has been used for centuries. Our forefathers before us, and their forefathers before them had to survive with fire. They used it for just about everything, cooking food, staying warm, shaping weapons, you name it. It will come down to those who can make fire, and those who can't. Most civilians believe making fire is easy, just smack two rocks together and there you go. There is actually a process to creating fire and it is in fact quite difficult, although I'm not going to go into how to create a fire in this lens, i will offer you some quick and easy tools to create fire for yourself. In a Zombie Apocalypse, Fire will be required to keep yourself warm, and keep yourself fed unless you plan on eating raw fish and raw meat, which will surely end in death or infection. With these simple tools you can create fire at your finger tips, just be careful to conceal the flame light and keep the smoke from traveling, it will attract the walking dead. Matches and Lighters won't last forever, but they will suffice until you can learn how to create your own fire. Tools such as the one pasted above are your best option, with a magnesium alloy fire starter, you can easily create sparks to start a fire at your finger tips.

Essentially, things you would easily find in any kitchen. Many people would not think

to bring these along for survival, but they will definitely come in handy when you must boil water, or cook meat over an open flame. There are all sorts of uses for these objects, not just for cooking, they can be used to catch rain water and save the hassle of foraging for water. You will thank yourself for purchasing these pleasantries, it will remind you of the old world and you won't be stuck eating with your hands struggling to survive. Forks and Knives are something we also take for granted, they make it much easier to keep ourselves clean, which is important for survival and hygiene, especially for cleaning wounds.

for many things, and great for carrying a very many things. With the large backpack featured above, you can carry almost all of the supplies you will need, reducing the ultimate weight that you will be carrying with its ergonomic design, you won't be stuck lugging around everything and hurrying about when the Zombies start parading up your front lawn. Be prepared, and be packed.



Sleeping bags,

especially one such as the one above used with a thermal wrap, are a necessity for surviving out in the wild, especially during the fall or winter. Zombies are not the only thing that you must worry about in the Zombie Apocalypse, keeping warm is just as important as it keeps us free from sickness and freezing to death. You will want a secure area before attempting to sleep in a sleeping bag, as it is hard to get out of one in a hurry, but it will keep you from passing away in the night due to freezing temperatures. People who have never slept outside do not realize how much colder it gets when the sun goes down, and even though the world may have ended, the sun will continue its scheduled rotation.



Tents, although they won't stop a Zombie from marauding through and possibly

collapsing it to the ground, it offers more protection than sleeping on the ground. Not only does it protect you from the environment, but it can give you advanced notice to anything sneaking around the campground or brushing into your tent. It will also conceal your position from the zombies, depending on how they sense you, it could buy you some crucial time to sneak away and dispatch of the zombies. The Types of Gloves, Clothing, etc. that you select will determine how well defended

you are from a zombie attack. Body Armor and other Clothing will determine your effectiveness to carry gear and keep a zombie from biting into your flesh. It also comes in handy for displacing the weight of all the gear you will be carrying, making it less heavy. You can carry more magazines on your person, and with all the handy pockets you will be able to keep everything within hands reach. I wouldn't say that they are necessary to keeping yourself alive, but they will definitely come in handy for keeping yourself protected from the wilds, and not straining yourself from carrying so much gear.

An Emergency Radio, especially a rechargeable one will be your only link to

the rest of existence, if there is anyone still broadcasting an emergency radio would be your best way to listen in. Even in a crumbling world there is still the chance of a rotating station playing songs, a great use to boost morale and keep your spirits high. The Government would be using Emergency Channels to broadcast news, especially news on a Zombie Epidemic spreading, so be sure to have one close by so you can keep yourself aware of what is going on.



Rope - Need i say more? You never know when you might need a good line of

rope. Scaling a building, climbing down something, tying something up, securing a gate, even used for Molotov cocktails. There are so many uses for rope they're immeasurable.

Hunting Supplies are necessary if you want to gather food
in the wilderness. From weapons, to knives, being able to take down your prey, catch your prey, and yes, even skin your prey is necessary to stay well fed in the wild. Not many people know the tricks to trapping or hunting, I recommend reading up on some survival tips to brush up your knowledge on traps and snares. Don't leave yourself unprepared in the wild simply scavenging for berries and eating whatever you find, that's a recipe for disaster, and indigestion. Learn how to hunt, and have the correct tools, they'll save your life, either from the undead or starvation.
