Choosing the best tablet to buy

When looking for the best Pc Tablet to buy, we always get many options and features from different brands. If we are looking for concepts like portability the 7" models have the ideal size. This is a good standard size where the 7" size can almost fit in our back pocket. If you are looking for the latest fashion on Pc Tablets, the models here will be enough. If the size really matters, it is possible to get to the 10" size without compromising features and functionality.

In this small review, you can decide which new Pc Tablet you want to buy. This are recent models and with some of the best features. Choose between the RIM BlackBerry Playbook, the HTC Flyer and the common Samsung Galaxy TAB.

PC Tablets - Size matters?

The debate of the ideal PC Tablet size

One of the greatest debates around the Pc Tablets world is about the ideal size. There are many models that bet around the 10" in size. However, some brands claim that is a bit excessive and if we want to get a optimal size and keep the concept of portability, the 7" size is probably the best one.
HTC and BlackBerry are the brands that bet more on the screen size of 7". LG (not reviewed here) decided to get in between the 7" and 10" size with the 8.9". Samsung bet on all. Besides their model of 10.1" they also have the most compact model on the 7" size.

The 7" size advantages might be evident, they are smaller, lighter and have better handling with just one hand. Against this, the screen of smaller size allows for less content to be used in a perfect size also, it might have less autonomy.

RIM BlackBerry Playbook

Real Multi-Tasking

BlackBerry is very well know by the quality of their products. This Tablet is no different.

BlackBerry have a real "diamond" on the market. The BlackBerry Playbook have a great user experience, very intuitive and functional thanks to a specific interface that was designed to be used by Tablets even if it looks like the WebOS from HP.
The construction and details have a great quality and it is the only one that have a touch frame that increases the functionality of the system.

The biggest fail is the amount of applications where the Ipad and Android have huge advantage on the many applications available to the user.

HTC Flyer

The HTC "Stylus Pen" is a nice touch

The HTC Flyer is the only tablet that uses "Stylus". It is not needed but it is great to use the tablet as a notepad.

HTC Flyer 7 inch 32GB 3G WiFi Android Tablet Network: HSPA/WCDMA: Europe/Asia: 900/AWS/2100 MHz Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

It seams on the Tablets fashion, HTC is losing ground since it was one of the last coming out to the market. Also it does not help the use of the somehow "old" OS, Android 2.3 that is not much good to use on this type of devices. Still, it is possible to discover some interesting features on the Flyer such as the "sense" interface that looks like to be developed for a bigger screen. Also a positive note goes for the use of a Stylus that allows the user to take notes, underline or make any kind of writing in almost any application.

Samsung Galaxy TAB 7"

The first of the family

The first Tablet that came with camera that allows the integration of images in almost any application.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (7-inch, 16GB, Wi-Fi)

Samsung was the first brand to react to the Apple Ipad with this 7" model based on the Android OS. Somehow the Galaxy have good features and some not so good. The Galaxy is well constructed and offers enough processor power to the user but the interface of Android 2.2 is not the best one to get all the potential of a Tablet. It has enough applications to defend himself against the competition but it does not have anything that it could be enough to come up on similar brands. It is also the oldest model of all the tablets reviewed here. A update is expected by the Korean manufacturer.
