These Classic Old Toys Are The Best Toys Ever Made!
Ranked #1,505 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #14,904 overall
Welcome to the wonderful world of fun and great memories that will last a life time!
The reason that these classic great toys are the best toys in the world is very simple. Most of these classic toys were created when we, (somewhat slightly older folk, LOL), were young, and there is an emotional attachment to them. I have added some recent classic new comer toys to the mix to spice things up a bit. That not with standing, they are simple, safe, and provide many great hours of good clean fun, and clean entertainment for children. They will leave them with those great memories that they will carry for a life time of the fun they had as little children.
If you wish to endear your children or grandchildren with some of the great memories you had while growing up in a more innocent time, then buy them one of these great toys to have and remember.

These great Tonka Toys last for ever and always entertain those little ones
Picking up your mess is fun with the Scoot 'n Scoop 3-in-1 Ride-On with Revvin' Beepin' Wheel. This child-size Tonka truck from Playskool lets kids scoop up shape blocks with three different modes of play. Recommended for babies nine months old to three-year-old toddlers, this fun vehicle helps little ones transition from crawling, to walking, to riding.
This Tonka truck makes engine noises and generates realistic road vibrations. View larger.
What We Think
Fun Factor:
Durability:
(what this means)
The Good: Steering wheel makes fun driving sounds
The Bad: Some adult assembly required
In a Nutshell: Grows with toddlers from crawling to walking to riding
At a Glance
Ages: 9 months to 3 years old
Requires: 3 AA batteries required (included)
Three Fun Modes of Play
Made with colorful, durable plastic construction, the Scoot 'n Scoop holds of child's play--and up to 42 pounds. The seat and gravel guard both detach from the truck body and snap in to different positions for a push mode, walk mode, and ride-on mode. With the seat in the up position, kids can easily push and pull the truck, and watch when moving forward as shape blocks get picked up in the dump bed. When the seat is down, these blocks fit into corresponding shapes on the seat. And of course, kids can sit on and ride the truck with the handle up or the steering wheel on. The Revvin' Beepin' Wheel starts with a turn of the purple key in the ignition, making funny engine noises and realistic road vibrations that turn off on their own. There's also an orange clicking gearshift, an adjustable blue mirror, directional blink lights, and a green horn with four different honking sounds. Drivers-in-training can play with the wheel attached to the truck or separately.
Put to the Driver's Test
The Scoot 'n Scoop is great for a range of young children--and though it's marketed toward boys, little girls will have fun with this toy too! While kids can play for a long time in any one of the truck's play modes, they're stuck in each one without a parent's help in moving the wheel, seat, and gravel guard. Attaching the gravel guard and seat is easy, but pressing both buttons down and lifting up at the same time to remove either is a pain and may require an extra hand. Parents will also have to attach the real axle with the included screw assembly. It only takes a minute and a small screwdriver, but adults should be careful to keep the small parts away from the kids. Children can throw their own toys in the dump bed, but unfortunately, the Scoot 'n Scoop only picks up the three included shape blocks. Just as much fun to play with on its own, the Revvin' Beepin' Wheel uses three AA batteries, which come included with the wheel.
Doll houses for that little princes in the house
Have you dreamed of a home that includes a grand entrance with winding staircase, gourmet kitchen, spacious living room, master suite with canopy bed, bathroom with luxurious tub, entertainment room/guest room, and every convenience and luxuries imaginable? Barbie's done the same kind of fantasizing. Lucky girl, her dream has come true!
Dream up new stories and ideas with this official Barbie playhouse.
Her three-story Dream House is fully furnished, ready for arranging and rearranging. Barbie can do her face at the vanity, turn on the light, fix dinner at the stove ("szzzzlll"), answer the doorbell ("ding-dong"), entertain her friends, play music, toss her clothes in the hamper, do her laundry in the washer and dryer, and even flush the toilet ("ssshhhh").
The third-floor entertainment room can be removed as a take-along mini-playhouse. Girls will spend hours and hours playing with this giant (44.5"H x 43"W x 14.5"D) playset, finding ever new ways with the more than 70 play pieces to arrange Barbie, her pals, and her furniture (dolls not included). The entire playhouse can close up when not in use. Who says dreams cant come true? Not Barbie, thats for sure! Adult assembly required. Requires three "AA" batteries and two "AAA" batteries (not included). --Emilie Coulter
Soft, lovable, and absolutely adorable little characters
In 1996 Independence Day rocked the box office, the "Macarena" began its trek up the charts before landing on wedding dance floors, and Elmo first showed the world his predilection for tickles. Tickle Me Elmo is remembered as one of the most difficult-to-find toys of the 1996--or any--holiday season.
Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session
Ten years later, T.M.X. Elmo (the X stands for 10) was unveiled to the world on Good Morning America on September 19. The most secretly guarded toy of the pre-holiday season, if not all time, T.M.X. Elmo was shown only to a few toy-industry insiders prior to his release. This secrecy didn't stop thousands of pre-orders from piling up. Though now that all is known, the obvious question is: Does T.M.X. Elmo deserve the hype?
When you first take him out of his box, T.M.X. Elmo doesn't seem all that grand. He looks after all, well, like Elmo. Covered in the soft red fur that one would expect from everyone's favorite Sesame Street character, T.M.X. Elmo stands an unimposing 14 inches tall. Even worse, he feels all hard and plasticy under his fur. But this Elmo is not meant for cuddles or hand holding or swaddling.
This Elmo is all about tickles.
Sit T.M.X. Elmo down and hit one of his three "tickle" spots. There's one under his chin, one on his belly, and one on top of his foot. Yes, this Elmo wiggles just like he did 10 years ago, but that's just the start. Elmo slaps his belly, falls forward with his butt sticking out, stands back up again only to topple backwards, kicks his legs over his belly, and then stands right back up, all while laughing hysterically.
"Again! Again!"
Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session. Elmo's fancy moves include falling over on his side, shimmying on his back, and what seems to be everyone's favorite: lying flat on his belly slapping the floor next to him as if he can't stop laughing. This Elmo has a serious case of the giggles. His trademark voice builds into a fit of histrionics, endless snickers that drown out everything but an unintelligible cackle until even Elmo admits he has had too much.
T.M.X Elmo requires 6 AA batteries, which are included, although these wore down quickly in our review copy. Elmo also has an on/off switch, so the tickles can be brought to an end when more than just Elmo has had too much. He moves a lot and needs a little open space for the full performance, although he does use his arm to determine his orientation periodically and stand back up if nothing is in the way. He gets a little stuck on uneven surfaces but for the most part performs amazingly well on carpet. On hardwood floors, Elmo works, but he occasionally slams his eyes on the floor in a way that seems it should halt the show.
In the end, T.M.X. Elmo is undeniably a trooper. Early reviews show that this turbocharged version of Tickle Me Elmo will follow the stellar path enjoyed by his much simpler predecessor. --David Morel
From the Manufacturer
"T.M.X." Elmo will tickle America's funny bone with three interactive tickle spots on his chin, tummy or toe. When kids tickle Elmo once on any of the tickle spots, he starts to laugh and slap his leg twice, then falls down into a sitting position and rocks himself back up to standing while laughing. When they tickle him a second time, he repeats the pattern even more, then sits down again and falls backwards onto his back and starts kicking his feet while laughing even harder. He then stands back up and asks to be tickled again. And on the third tickle he absolutely lets loose going through the first two patterns and then rolling over onto his tummy where he starts hitting the floor with his hand in gales of laughter, then rolling onto his back, standing up again, and ending with a deep sigh. Requires 6 "AA" batteries.
Wooden Building Blocks are one of the oldest form of toys there is!
Children can let their imaginations run wild as they build towers and towns with this 60-piece standard unit block set. The 60 large, classroom-sized blocks have a classic look and are easy for little fingers to grasp. Ideal for ages three to five, this block set stimulates children for hours as they engage in imaginative play.
Naturally Finished for a Classic Look
Wooden blocks have been around for centuries and make an excellent tool to teach basic math concepts, organizational skills, sequential skills, and spatial relations. It is no surprise that blocks are found in almost every pre-school and kindergarten classroom. Youngsters become the architect of their own world as they fit pieces together to form their vision. This open-ended play set stimulates creativity and hones basic motor skills.
Each set features a large variety shapes and sizes including arches, columns, squares, rectangles, triangles, cylinders, and circles, as well as basic, half, and double unit blocks. This block set is crafted to the standard unit block size (1-1/2-by-2-by-5-inches) and constructed from Rubberwood, a resilient hardwood. The blocks are big, chunky, and easy for kids to grasp and build with. Smoothly sanded surfaces tantalize fingertips and create a handsome natural aesthetic. Best of all, when the child finishes constructing their masterpiece, all the pieces store neatly into a wooden storage box.
There is no limit to the types of fortresses the child can build with these blocks. This deluxe set even contains pillars, buttresses, gothic circles, and half-circles for advanced architecture. As an added bonus, the storage box doubles as a building platform. Children and parents have fun as they complete projects together. Parents can purchase another set and add to the amusement. An essential for any child's toy box, these blocks are sturdy, durable, and beautiful enough to put on display. The box measures 15-by-12-1/2-by-15-1/4 inches.
Tinker Toys - a favorite of children for a very long time.
There probably isn't a whole lot that can be said about Tinker Toys that hasn't already been said a hundred times in a hundred different ways over the years. And that familiarity is a testament to the toys durability. That durability, in turn, testifies to the popularity and quality of the toys. Included in this wide drum container (complete with a metal top in a nod to the old school Tinker Toy traditionalists) are 98 plastic rods, 44 plastic spools, and 30 plastic connectors. Some who remember the old-fashioned wooden Tinker Toys may pine for that material to return but the plastic really is much more durable. There's a design guide to get you started, if that's necessary, but as always you are limited only by your imagination. --Charlie Williams
There is nothing that will ever replace the world famous Teddy Bear!
You know how preschoolers just can't get enough of story time? How there's always a request for one more, and just one more after that? If you're like most parents, you'd love to oblige your curious child as his mind expands and grows%u2026but there are those dishes to be washed and errands to be run. Here's your chance to let someone else step in for a moment! T.J. Bearytales is your man. Or bear. This plush-on-hard-plastic teddy is not necessarily the most cuddly guy around, but he does have the corner on the entertainment market for the under-six crowd. Just slip a cartridge into T.J.'s backpack and press play. The bear comes to life with animated facial features and gesturing arms as he tells stories, asks questions, sings, laughs, and leads activities. Kids can follow along with the storybook as they learn school-readiness skills like listening, following directions, cooperation, and friendship. But of course all they'll care about is the chance to hear one more story%u2026as often as they can insert cartridges! Includes bear, storybook, and instructions, as well as a recording of "My Big Birthday Surprise" story. Other story cartridges can be purchased separately. Requires four "D" batteries (not included). --Emilie Coulter

- Those are all classic toys. I loved my Erector set as a kid, didn't even know they were still available. Legos were always great, too. Nowadays they're all thematic - superheros, movie themes, etc. We used to just get the pieces and figure out something to put together. At least they're still around. Sometimes it's hard to remember life before video games and electronic toys. Thanks for reminding us.
