While Israel, Aruba, and the Netherlands Antilles do not allow same-sex marriages they recognize same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions. In the United States, Massachusetts and Iowa are the only states to recognize same-sex marriage under the name marriage. IOWA!?! who wudda thought?
John and Amelia Rocchio married in 1923 in Providence RI, had one of the longest marriage in the world. They were married over 82 years until Amelia died in 2005. And at least 82 Valentines Days!
About 90 percent of Americans marry at some point in their lives. This number is bound to grow thanks to Massachusetts and Iowa.
When you are younger, there are more single men: There are 119 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) who are in their 20s for every 100 single women of the same ages. This explains why 20 year old girls always seem to be having more fun than 20 year old guys.
When you are older there are more single gals: There are 34 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) age 65 or older for every 100 single women of the same ages. Guys if you like 65 year old women, you have something to look forward to.
In 1995 the median age of women in the United States at the time of their first marriage was 25. The median age of men was about 27.
