Beauty Doesn't Have To Be Expensive

Admit it or not, everybody wants to look beautiful and attractive. It is not vanity, it's just human nature to pursue beauty and enhance one's physical asset, a self-esteem need that has to be satisfied. If you say that you don't want to be beautiful, you might as well confess that you're a hypocrite. Not everyone is born to have that "perfect" skin, "perfect" hair, "perfect" body, etc...but come on, NOBODY is perfect. Beauty is relative. What you can do though, is take care of what you have. Beauty companies have long-known this need and so they thrive as multi-million businesses. Internet, magazine and television nowadays are bombarded with beauty products claiming to have the latest innovation and ingredient to make you beautiful and it's hard to decide, especially when these products come with a very pricey tag. For an ordinary woman like me, I am not magazine-pictorial ready or have a potential to become a model, but I care enough about my looks so that no one would think that the stresses and challenges of life has gotten into my physical well-being: simply put, to look older than your age. Don't you feel flattered when someone guess you are younger than what you actually are? Would you have guessed in my photo than I'm in my 30's already?

I am not a beauty guru, but with years of experimenting with beauty products, I finally discovered what products work best for me. Hey, I too undergone the puberty stage when hundreds of pimples inhabit all over my face and I thought my case is hopeless. But I found out that by choosing the right products and attitude, these problems can disappear without a trace and you can be at your most "beautiful" you!

Put Your Best Face Forward

I chose to upload pictures of myself sans make-up for a more personal approach on my recommendations. The products that I encourage you to check out are those that I have used myself and have proven effective. All those tv commercials and magazine ads about the latest beauty products are quite tempting, and everytime I go to the grocery aisle, I am overwhelmed by hundreds of displays on the beauty lane. To simplify my life, I stick to products that work for me. Once in a while I try out a new one but if it doesn't work, then it's not worth trying the second time.

To start off, remove any make-up using Ponds Cleansing & Make-up Remover Towelette. It is also best when travelling and you want an instant freshener, especially in places where there is a lot of dust and pollution. Next, wash your face with warm water to open the pores and prepare it for deep cleansing. Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula is an excellent cleanser. I used to have oily skin on my T-zone (nose & forehead) but when I started using this cleanser, this problem was resolved so I stick to this product up to now. This cleanser is very gentle and doesn't leave soap residue. Use it in the morning and evening before going to bed. Follow it with a mild toner. Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 is my personal favorite. It leaves a mild, tingling sensation and a smooth, clean feeling on your face. Moisturize your skin using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy film like some moisturizers do. And here's one product that I can probably not live without: Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer. Use it after your moisturize and you'll immediately see the difference! After just one or two uses, I noticed that my face looks radiant and feels ultra-smooth. I'm not much into make-up but I think it's one of the best ways to prep your skin for make-up.

Skin Care Regimen Plus-On

Here are some added bonuses. If ever you suffer from a sudden break-out, leaving you some pimple marks, Dr. Brandt Flaws No More Lightening Serum does wonders. Of all products I mention here, this is the most expensive one but it's worth the price. I had this huge pimple on my chin and got tempted to prick it, leaving an ugly mark. So I brought this product and didn't regret it. Don't expect instant result though, it'll take days or even weeks but it doesn't leave a trace of that pimple at all. For eye care, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex won't disappoint you. It is best for puffy eyes, undereye circles and smoothens the area around your eyes.

Love Your Skin

type=text

Across different cultural contexts, I observe that a beautiful skin does not have to be a specific color...it only has to be soft, smooth, even-toned, flawless and as much as possible free from marks. Personally, I choose body wash over a regular soap but whichever you like, it's fine. I absolutely love Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash. You can opt for Dove Beauty Bar (white) if you like the soap. These products don't dry your skin, whilst giving you a soft, smooth skin all-over. Also to gain an even skin-tone, I like Daggett and Ramsdell Lightening Soap. It has natural bearberry and licorice extracts to lighten your skin to it's natural color. Especially if you like to hang-out under the sun, got a suntan and want to get back to your light natural shade, this product is great. It also helps to remove dark spots and uneven color. My husband likes to use it too! To keep my skin moisturized, I used Johnson's Lasting Moisture for Baby Soft Skin. I love Johnson's Baby Lotion for my son, and we both get the same baby soft skin from this product. I also tried Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E and it works great! I am just not into the coconut smell so I don't use it now but if you don't mind the coco fragrance, this product really gives amazing results.

Great Hair Care in Simple Steps

type=textNow here are some tips to achieve beautiful locks. My hair is naturally wavy and got it rebonded in the salon to keep it straight. Whether relaxed, rebonded or color-treated, the harsh chemicals used can leave your hair dry and brittle but if properly and patiently taken-cared of, you don't have to keep going back to the salon to maintain soft, smooth and shiny hair. Rebonding can leave your hair-ends very dry and so I've tried a number of products to prevent damage to my hair and among them, these products stand-out, I give them two thumbs-up!

Almost every stylist would advise me to shampoo my hair, not everyday but at least two or three times a week but have to use conditioner daily. Pantene Shampoo Beautiful Lengths never let me down. I like having long hair and this shampoo helps me achieve it. Use with Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Conditioner to get optimum results. I love to alternate using also Dove Intense Damage Therapy Conditioner. It keeps my hair supersoft and tames frizzes especially on a cold weather. Another excellent choice is John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care Line - Strength Restoring Shampoo, Conditioner and Smoothing Lotion. They consist of natural eucalyptus, nourishing your hair and strengthens it, as the name says. I love also the cool feeling on your scalp when you use the shampoo and conditioner. After shower, use 2-3 pumps of the smoothing lotion on damp, towel-dried hair then style as desired. Your hair will be very smooth, soft and with no flyaways. Similarly, Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum Sleek and Shine will give you outstanding result. Just put a small amount to towel-dried hair and it will surely give you silky smooth hair that is shiny and manageable. Also works best when you use it before hairstyling or blowdrying. Another great product that I just discovered on the internet is Moroccan Oil. I've read several good reviews about it so I tried it myself and I am really satisfied with this product. It really deserves all those positive comments. Just put a small amount on wet or damp hair like the products I've introduced earlier, and whether you blowdry your hair or not, you'll see that once your hair dries, you'll notice it's shiny, smooth and very soft. It's really amazing!

Beautiful Hands and Feet

Now let's not forget the most hard-working part of our bodies, our hands and feet. I'm one of those who sort of neglect my hands and feet, not using anything to pamper them but when I started "over-using" them, my hands and feet began to get dry. In my line of work, I often use chemicals and work long hours standing in closed shoes so my hands and feet became so horrible I decided to take action. I love L'Occitane Hand Creams particularly these three: L'Occitane en Provence Dry Skin Hand Cream, Shea Butter Hand Cream and Cherry Blossom Hand Cream. I have tried a couple of hand creams to get rid of my very, very dry and rough skin on my hands and only these products gave me satisfying results. For my feet, I use Dr. Scholl's For Her Ultra Overnight Foot Cream. Use this before going to bed at night and cover your feet with socks. The next day, it's like a miracle. My feet are ultra-soft and moisturized! And now for an issue that's bothering almost all women (and men too I believe), cellulite. I've researched on which product is effective in reducing cellulite and I came across this great product called Revitol Cellulite Reduction Cream. I tried it myself on my upper thighs and got compliments from my husband. In short, it really works! Use it regularly in any problem area and even if it's a little pricey compared to some products offered in the grocery stores, I assure you, you won't regret it. You can actually get it cheaper if you buy a set of 2 or 3 bottles.

Go Ahead, Be Beautiful!

So far, these are all the tips I could share with you. You may try one or more of these products that I've recommended. Amazon is a superb site to check and if you have an Amazon prime membership, you get free one-day or two-day shipping for some products, otherwise, they deliver also shipments as scheduled .

Always remember that too much of anything is not good so if ever you want to experiment with other beauty products, it's very important to check the label first. Natural ingredients are always a safe bet and keep away from strong chemicals like hydroquinone, mercury and steroid. Expensive products do not necessarily guarantee excellent results. Each one has different biological make-up so it's always good to find out for yourself, the best product for you. My best advise: Look at yourself in the mirror each day and learn to love that person across from you. The world is more beautiful when you believe you are :)

I Would Love To Hear From You!

It's always a nice to know that I was able to help someone so if you tried one of those products I recommended and has proven them effective, I'd love to hear from you! If you have other comments, feedbacks and suggestions, feel free to leave them here. Thanks!!!
