...so lovely ... I'm fond of the gulf islands. My memories feel fresh. The old, old ferries all done up in wood and looking so shipshape. Seagulls flying in the wind near-by. Salt air. That 's my kind of summer.

No way!

Info about Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island is the largest island located off the West Coast of British Columbia in Canada. There are approximately 750,000 people living here with the greatest population of approximately 350,000 living in the capital region of Victoria.

The island is divided between a wet and wild West Coast and a milder and drier more populated East Coast. I live in a city on the West Coast of Vancouver Island on a saltwater inlet. I am surrounded by beautiful scenery with huge trees and beautiful mountains and a block from the country. The closest beaches in either direction are about a half hour's drive.

I'm always amazed at the activities that you can do year-round on Vancouver Island. I can participate in a wide variety of activities from land to sea including a wide range of community activities. The people here are very friendly and are always on the go. We have a year-round climate that rarely dips below zero but our climate includes lots of rain. The abundant rainfall keeps our beautiful scenery green.

If you are looking for an adventure or just sightseeing, you will find everything on the Best Island Ever, Beautiful Vancouver Island!!
