Like most cameras in this price range, you will have to deal with the menu that can be accessed through the LCD screen and buttons. Some people can find the menu a little daunting but it can be fairly straight forward if you are willing to put in the time.
This camera also offers autofocus for quick point and shoot but you don't get a viewfinder. This is a compact digital camera and Panasonic has tried to put as much as possible into this 14 megapixel image resolution device. Most retailers offer the DMC FT10 device for about $350

The design is nice but not as streamlined as the Sony waterproof camera. The color combination is tastefully done and has a shutter button that feels comfortable to use. Some people often complain that some underwater cameras have slow shutter speed but that is not the case with this $250 appliance. You also get the newer CCD image sensor which can boast picture and video quality.

You will notice that the menus, buttons and general feel of this 14 megapixel camera are almost the same with similar brands. If the features are similar why buy the TG-310? The secret is in the price. It will cost you $140 at Amazon.com.
You should not expect the same lens quality like brands that cost more but it is still a neat waterproof digital cameras that is worth looking into.
