Best Way To Buy A Digital Camera

I confess, I'm a digital camera fanatic. OK, maybe not a fanatic, but I sure do enjoy a high quality digital camera.

Taking pictures is a passion, taking my camera with me most everywhere. Hiking, biking, taking a drive... anything for an excuse to grab some nice shots.

And over the years, thanks to my passion, I've bought and sold many digital cameras.

What I've found is that the best way to buy a digital camera is through eBay auctions.

I've bought many cameras direct from a retailer, either online or off, from classified ads and friends. But I've had the best success using auctions.

Why?

First, for the most part, the systems in place keep auctions and sellers honest. If a seller sells a lemon or tries to rip off a buyer, everyone will know it after the affected buyer leaves a negative comment. A seller won't be around long if they're not on the up and up.

Second, you can normally save lots of money over other places to buy. You normally have a choice of new, used and refurbished models. I've had great success with refurbished cameras (as well as other refurbished electronics). I figure that any problems have already been fixed and you often save a considerable amount.

The one down side I found to searching auctions, particularly on eBay is that there are a lot of choices and you can waste a lot of time searching.
Many friends shared this with me as well so I started thinking of a way to make it easier.
