Introducing the best Event Management apps online

Since I love running events and playing with social media, I'm always on the lookout for new online apps that will help event managers to do a great job.

This lens is a collection of great apps that I've found that make ticketing, marketing and networking easier. They're all free and very easy to use. Take a look and see what might help your next event!

Event Management Tools Online

General Office Tools
Obviously, to run your event you'll need everyday office tools to make presentations, collaborate on ideas and keep yourself organised. Here's a list I made earlier on Cloud apps for Freelancers.

Ticketing Agents & Invitation Managers

Ticketing agents also act as marketing tools a lot of the time, but I won't repeat them in the next section.

Event Marketing & Facilitating Networking

Your attendees will want to get in touch with each other before, during and after the event. Social networking helps people to do this, but it's best if you help to facilitate it in some way. More details on how here.

Ensure your event has a presence on:

Check out these great tools too!
  • Do your market research (and get extra publicity) by using TwtPoll to query potential attendees about dates, venues, price and other important things.
  • Use tools like Hootsuite to allow your whole team to manage your Twitter account.
  • If your event is to encourage activism, set up a petition on act.ly.
  • Tell your participants to use tweetchat to easily keep track of your hashtag.
  • Create a Twitter Digest of each day's Tweets on your hashtag.
  • From your website, link to Twitterator and give users the list of twitter accounts for attendees so they can bulk-add.

Other Useful Event Management Guides

I've already written a lengthy guide on how to run an event, plus a guide on the best web apps for freelancers. So, this lens won't be duplicating anything I've already written. Take a look at them if you're interested!
