Best Wigs for Round Faces

Before we talk about which wig styles are well suited for a round face, let's talk about the wrong styles. Wearing a style that's too full around the cheeks will make a round face look wider--if the hair itself makes a round shape, echoing the round shape of the face, the effect is full all over and that's usually not flattering. It'll bring the eye out to notice your hair, instead of your eyes, smile, or whichever of your features you want people to pay attention to.

Wrong styles are usually those that are cut to chin length because the hair tends to be a little fuller right at the bottom (creating that round shape), styles like bobs might look sophisticated on other women, but on a woman with a round face, they often look a bit too young. Shapes that are too severe aren't right either--they look like a mismatch against your face's curves.

So, if you have a round face, what wig styles are most likely to flatter? Shoulder-length or longer styles, mostly. Soft, slightly-off-center parts are great as well.

Long, soft waves are much better than tight, bouncy (round) curls, and straight (though not stick-straight) styles are great as well. Keep in mind that because your face is soft, you want to stay away both from echoing that shape and from wearing something completely opposite it. So, neither stick-straight severe, nor bouncy-tight-curly.

Celebrities you might want to mimic include Drew Barrymore, Mandy Moore, Kelly Clarkson, and Catherine Zeta Jones. If you like a certain hairstyle one of those actresses has worn, look for a similar style in a wig because odds are good that you'll like that same style on yourself.
