Straight from the oven and into your tummy...this macaroni and cheese recipe!
My Mom's Tried and True Recipe!
Our family favorite

Cook 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni in boiling, lightly salted water per package directions for al dente; drain in a colander, rinse with warm water, set aside. In the pasta pan melt 3T butter; blend in 2T flour. Then slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk and stir constantly until thick and bubbly. Add 2 cups of cubed cheddar cheese; stir in until melted. Toss in the cooked elbow macaroni, blending well. Turn out into a lightly buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown on top and bubbly. Makes 6 servings...if you are lucky :)

It does sound unnatural...I've never had it that way, but who knows what.. when you're VERY hungry and have nothing to eat.... it might be a different story.. lol

Are you totally nuts?! That stuff is only for Mickey-dee burgers...I'm right ya know!
sittonbull says:
Are you kidding? The taste of Mama's Mac&Cheese is a "piece 'd resistance" in itself... Arrrgh... the thought of sullying that with Ketchup.... Oooooh...Papawu has it right... sacrilege!

No can't say I'd put catsup on my Mac and cheese. But I wouldn't object if you wanted to.

My husband can't eat it without ketchup, but he also can't eat Mac and Cheese without a peanut butter sandwitch. GROSS.

papawu says:
Oh No! This sounds like sacrilige to me. Some Texas Pete or Crystal hot sauce maybe, but definitely not ketchup.

No way - if anything it would be Trappey's Red Devil Hot Sauce! But as you said, everyone has their own taste preferences. But if it is really good and yummy and just the right amount of crunchy....I wouldn't put anything on it except fresh course ground black pepper.
