Welcome to the Best Boardgames for Kids

Do your kids love to play boardgames with their friends or with the family? I'll share with you some of the best boardgames for kids that'll entertain them for hours! Of course there are lots of newer games out there that are great but these are the more classic games that have been around for a long time.  Remember these are just my own opinions of good games for kids.  Boardgames are a great educational tool as well. A lot of learning can be done while playing boardgames. The imagination is stretched while kids develop great thinking patterns and learn to follow instructions! These are all great reasons that kids should pull out those boardgames and have some fun! Even with all of the on-line games out there gathering around the family table with a great boardgame is still a very popular activity for kids and friends and family members to engage in. Let's see what games we have...

Best Boardgames for Kids

Most households have a closet full of boardgames that are ready to be pulled out in a moments notice! On cool winter days there is nothing better than to gather the family and play a classic boardgame! There are oodles to choose from, but I'm sure your kids will have there favourites as mine did! Often Sunday afternoons we played 'Sorry' and 'PayDay' until we just couldn't take anymore! Kids never seem to tire of these! Family game nights are still popular and playing boardgames together are the perfect memory builders too!

Snakes and Ladders - A great game for 2 to 4 players. The object of the game is to be the first player to the top of the board. The key is to try not to land on the squares with the snake tails as you will have to go sliding down them. You move your game pieces by rolling the dice and moving along the numbered squares. Going up the ladders when you land on one and down the snake tails when you land on one of the snakes! A great game to teach kids how to count and also to be a good sport! The idea is to get all of your game pieces safely around the board and back to your home before the other players! This is done by flipping over cards that tell you how many moves to make forward or backwards sometimes. It is a fun game and encourages kids to count and think a little bit! Payday is another great game for kids! Payday is a game that is played on a gameboard that is in the form of a calendar month. Each day has a different event or something for you do when you land on that space. It involves rolling the dice in order to determine how many spaces you'll move. A typical is usually determined by the players but 3 to 6 months is the average to play. Each player starts with an amount of money $325 dollars. The game moves forward by each player taking turns rolling the dice and doing what it says in the space they land in. Money is collected when you complete a full month. Poker games and lotteries can make your money disappear in a hurry. In the end it's the player who has the most money in his possession that wins! A fun game... not for real young kids!
