Panic At The Disco were formed in 2004 by high school friends Ryan Ross (guitar), Spencer Smith (drums), Brendon Urie (vocals), and Jon Walker (bass). They originally chose 'Panic! At The Disco' as their band name, but the exclamation mark was later mysteriously dropped.

PATD have gone on to create two brilliant albums, A Fever You Can't Sweat (2004)and Pretty. Odd (2008).

Illinois 2001 - friends Pete Wentz, and Joe Trohman decided to act upon the idea of forming a band. Needing a drummer they auditioned Patrick Stump (after meeting him by chance at a bookshop). Patrick joined the band. Then when the others heard his great singing voice he was quickly persuaded to move from drums to lead vocals.

FOB's first release, in 2002, was the EP Split. During the following year the group's first drummer left and was replaced by Andy Hurley.

The band joined the highly successful indie label Fueled By Ramen to release their debut album, Take This to Your Grave. Fall Out Boy have gone on to release several successful albums, which contain a whole slew of super Fall Out Boy songs.

When you first hear a Sigur Ros track, the normal reaction is puzzlement. But don't follow the instant temptation to consign them to the 'not to my taste bin'. Though the band ignores the western tradition of verses interspersed by a repeating chorus, their carefully crafted songs are highly engaging and very emotive.

The Icelandic trio Jónsi Birgisson, Goggi Hólm and Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson (drums, now ex-member), formed Sigur Rós in 1994. The band has gone on to produce five studio albums. The latest, released in 2008 titled Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust ('With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly'). A good place to fully experience the band is Sigur Ros songs.

The brothers Nathan, Caleb and Jared Followill had an unusual childhood - as youngsters they moved from town to town with their father Leon - who was a travelling United Pentecostal Church Preacher.

When the brothers moved to Nashville in 1998, they formed a band, enlisting the help of their cousin Matthew to play lead guitar to complete the band.
