Helpful do it yourself beauty tips!

Fix a Flushed Face:

If you turn red and stay that way after exercising, take an antihistamine like Benadryl when you leave the gym to reduce redness. Works like a charm!

Use Toothpaste on a Zit:

Use just a pea-size amount. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the oil so the pimple won't get more clogged, then wash it off!

Use Soap Without Water:

You know those fancy bars that are actually too pretty to use? Toss them in your underwear or tee-shirt drawers to make your skin smell extra delicious!

Press a Tea Bag on Splotches:

If your skin is sensitive or just looking irritated and puffy for whatever reason, steep a bag of green tea for a minute or two, let it cool down, and bad it over your face. The antioxidants in the tea take down inflammation.

Dull Hair?

Want to know why?

Sun exposure and mineral deposits in tap water can actually dull your hair! Advance Techniques Color Protection Shampoo contains UV filters and other protectants that coat each hair strand.Want to try it? Go to www.thebestbeautysecrets.com

powder your tips....

If your hairline starts to look greasy, dig up a big, fluffy makeup brush, and dip it into a pot of loose powder. Tap it once on the back of your hand to remove excess, then dust it over your roots. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn't shower!

brush on hairspray....

For the final step of your blow-dry, spray hair spray onto your brush, and run it through your strands from roots to tips. This way, your do isn't so plastered and stiff but still holds volume and shine!

AAAGGGHH...pimples!

Learn how to cover them up!

Concealer is designed to lighten dark under-eye circles and is usually one or two shades lighter than your skin tone. So using it on a blemish actually draws more attention to the problem. The best way to hide a blemish is with stick foundation or cover-up that matches your skin exactly. If possible, buy one in the same product line as your foundation so everything matches up. Use fingers or a small brush to apply the foundation directly on the blemish, and pat gently with your fingertips to blend.

Want clean, clear skin?

Avoid these mistakes.....

1. Choose the right cleanser for the job-Cleansers remove dirt and oil. Cleansers for the body, such as shower gels, can actually irratate delicate facial skin. 2. Do not wash too frequently-It can irratate your skin and stimulate oil production, which can lead to break-outs or leave skin too dry. 3. Do not scrub-The best way to work in cleanser is to apply it to a cotton pad or your fingertips and massage it into your skin.

Picking the right make-up for you!

Fair skin

If you're fair-skinned, sheer colors look best on you. Apply light earth tones and soft pastels, such as blue and lavender to accent your eyes.

Various shades of pink will look good on your eyes, cheeks and lips. Keep your mascara to brown or brown/black. Light, sheer lipstick adds a finishing touch. Peach is always a good choice for our fair-skinned friends, it looks natural and compliments blonde hair.

Medium-skin

Your warmer completion gives you many options for a fabulous makeover. Being "in-between" does have it's benefits. Deep matte earth tones and jewel colors such as hunter green, dark grey, beige and brown will accent your eyes. Coral and plumb colors work good to accentuate your cheekbones.

Experiment with your lip color. Your skin tone is very versatile and if you're brunette, anything from pink to red will look great on you. Top it off with lip gloss for extra staying power. Bronzing powder dusted over your forehead, nose and cheeks will give you the ultimate sun-kissed look

Dark Skin

You may need a heavier hand when applying make-up to dark skin -- but you need to choose the right shades. For eye shadow, gray, brown and natural shades will compliment your eyes. Also try shimmer colors such as silver, bronze, and terra-cotta. Experiment with mascara colors such as navy and dark purple.

For blush, more pigment for darker skin is a must. Deep rose and apricot shades highlight your cheekbones beautifully. Sometimes a bronze highlighter does the trick. Stay away from anything with a strong orange base as this will not flatter your skin.

Dark lip color such as apricot, blackberry, caramel and red will compliment your lips.

Mineral Make-up....

Mineral makeup is the latest in the trend in cosmetics . Mineral base makeup is made with pure minerals rather than fillers and colors, and it comes in powder, liquid or cream versions.once you get a little experience, you probably won't want to go back to ordinary makeup. Mineral foundation is weightless, and somehow manages to provide coverage while looking invisible. Mineral make up is the best cosmetic for women with acne, rosacea or other skin conditions, not only because you can control the coverage by adding thin layers, but because the ingredients are non-comedogenic and inert, less likely to cause reactions.

Eye Catching!!

Wearing too much mascara can actually make you look older! Heavy lashes cast shadows under the eyes, accentuating fine lines, wrinkles and creating the appearance of dark circles under eyes! To avoid this...use an eye lash curler, which helps to make lashes naturally frame your eye. Follow through with liquid eye liner. Liquid liner actually makes lashes look thicker! Purchase Darling Curves mascara from www.youravon.com/rramberg The curved brush helps to curve lashes without having to apply numeruos coats!

Spot-treat smudges:

Dip a cotton swab into eye-makeup remover, and trace it along your lids to erase any slipups or goofs when there's no time to redo your whole look!
