Welcome To Best Book Reviews

Welcome to Best Book Reviews For Teens And Young Adults, my lens about my beautiful 16 year old daughter's, (Tiffany) web site. She wanted a web site for her birthday in 2008. She loves books and thought a site would be a good way to make money, while reading which is her favorite thing in all the world to do.

So she created bestbookreviewsforteensandyoungadults.com.

She began writing reviews and then school started. So the reviews are going up a little slower now that summer is over, but she will eventually build up a nice site where you can learn about current and old books. She loves reading the classics and all sorts of genres.

Release Of Breaking Dawn

When Stephanie Meyer's latest book, Breaking Dawn, was released in July 2008, Tiffany went to the book party from 8pm to midnight. She had preordered this book months in advance and had spent time in line early that morning waiting to get a wrist band so she could be among the first to buy her copy at midnight.

We went over to Barnes and Noble at 8pm and took photos. She interviewed people who were there at the party for her website and met a lot of cool people. She drank Starbuck's (her favorite drink and place) and had a great time. The best time for her came a little after midnight when she got her hands on the new book. The photo here shows her paying for it.

If you have not yet read Stephanie Meyer's books, get some today. Both teen girls and their moms love these romantic vampire books according to news stories!

Twilight The Movie

Twilight

Back in November 2008, Twilight the movie was released in theaters. Tiffany and her boyfriend went to see it. Then Tiffany dragged me. I have not had time to read the books yet so I just knew that it involved a girl and some vampires. I must admit I enjoyed the movie and I look forward to the sequels.

First, I noticed the beautiful scenery in the outdoor scenes of Washington state. How they contrast with hot Texas! The scenery was gorgeous and I love the small town feel of the place where Bella goes to live with her dad.

Right away, I thought it was interesting how the vampires all hung out together, pretending to be kids in high school. When Bella went into science class and her new lab partner held his nose, it was hysterical. I, of course, did not realize why he was doing it. His line about having to endure sitting next to her in class was priceless when Bella caught him trying to change out of the class to get away from her.

The strength of the vampires and the speed in which they travel were very interesting.

In March, when the movie came out on DVD, I got to see it again because my daughter's boyfriend bought it for her. It really is fascinating to watch except for close to the end when Bella is injured. The thought of her bleeding was sickening to me and I had to close my eyes for that part.

My favorite part of the movie, other than the scenery, is when Bella goes to Edward's home to visit for the first time. There is the whole vampire family in the kitchen watching a cooking DVD, learning to cook Italian food. One of them says that they all hope she is hungry because this has given them the excuse to use their beautiful kitchen for the very first time! Then Edward tells them that she already ate at home because she knew they don't eat food. The sister throws down a glass bowl that breaks into a million shards! Hysterical stuff!

You will enjoy this movie tremendously. I did and I know you will love the book more. Because Tiffany said so and she loves a good book. The Twilight series is her favorite!

Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants

When the series of Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants was made into a movie, I took Tiffany. She had been reading the books and just loves them. She has all of them reviewed on her web site so be sure to check it out.

We both loved the first movie. The island of Greece was absolutely beautiful and the story is really great. The four friends and their shared pair of jeans goes all over the place, having fun adventures and meeting new people, having new experiences.

So when the second movie came out, we rushed right out to the movies and saw it. Greece was even more beautiful this time. It was a very enjoyable film that we loved and when it comes out on video, I will buy it. We bought the first one and love to look at it.

My daughter highly recommends the book series by Ann Brashares if you are a teen or in college as the books start out in high school and continue on into college.

My kids just read the first two books in a new series by an up and coming author. Both books were found on Amazon. The first is called "Diamond In The Rough" and the other is called "You're It". I can't get them to read most of the time, but these books I couldn't get them to put down. The author's name is Marc Loranger.
