Household Cat Toys
Besides her fine stash of store bought cat toys, Loki also has a penchant for kitchen potholders. I've never quite figured out what their mystique is to her, but she loves them. From the time she was a kitten, if a potholder was left on the counter, the next morning I was bound to find it had mysteriously relocated to a different room. Often forgoing the hundreds of dollars spent on kitty toys - potholders are often Loki's favorite item to play with. It's amazing how many games we have come up with that you can use these square pieces of cloth for. Potholder Frisbee, potholder snake chase, and even potholder floor hockey.
Loki's absolute favorite piece is a now very beat up country kitchen pot holder tied to a cloth string. This has been dubbed her nookie of which she is very protective. There are numerous pictures of her carrying it around with her in her mouth. It's a shame the camera can't catch the audio of her playfully growling "My toy, keep away"! She even brings it to bed each night!
I guess everyone has some type of security blanket, and for Loki it's her potholder!
