Best Cookware Sets

Hello - I've searched far and wide for the Best Cookware Sets on the planet. I too was using an old set from high school, combined with a combination of pans from my marriage, and decided it was time to upgrade to some newer pots and pans, and share them here on my new Squidoo Lens site. I dedicate this lens to all the kitchen pans users and their quest to organize and beautify their kitchen with a new set of cookware.

Finding The Best Cookware Sets For Cooking Fun

New Kitchen Cookware Makes An Enjoyable Experience

When you own and use the correct kitchen cookware, not only do your cooking skills improve, but the whole experience of cooking gets taken up a notch. We often put too much emphasis on cooking and very little on the importance of the cookware. If you are in the market for the best cookware sets available, you will find there are a large number to choose from. The more mainstream materials are: aluminum, anodized, cast iron, copper, enamel, non-stick, and stainless steel. I believe you should look at the cookware's features to determine which one is best for you.

Know Your Technique and Match it to Your Cookware Sets

What type of cooking techniques do you use? Techniques come from the tastes you enjoy and the cultures you come from. But no matter what your method of cooking is, it is best to purchase more than one complete cookware set that contains different shapes and sizes. Don't limit yourself to one cookware set - you will find it hard to prepare certain types of food if you do. Making a thick chicken stew in a shallow pan, for example would be very hard. I believe it would be much easier to have different sets to suit the many styles and food types, as well as make cooking more adventurous and exciting. If you have a complete cookware collection, your cooking is can definitely to go to the next level.
When it comes to shopping and buying your cookware sets, don't skimp! Purchase good quality cookware that will last a lifetime. Those memory making meals could be only a dream because you didn't have the necessary utensils. A great kitchen should have not only the basic cooking equipment. I would suggest the following: 3 cooking pots with lids of various sizes, medium roasting pan, and a 10 inch square skillet and a 12 inch round skillet with lid.
Now in addition to cookware, every kitchen should also have a modest set of great bakeware. Your bakeware should include the basic cookie sheet (3 would be optimum for cooling large quantities), a muffin pan set -regular and mini, 9 inch round pan, 13 x 9 inch cake pan, loaf pan, and an 8 inch square baking pan. Some of the best common manufacturers of these products are: Calphalon, Corelle, Cuisinart, Farberware, and KitchenAid. Some of the more "Celebrity" types are Carl Weill, Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, and the new line of Earth Pan - a more "green" process of non-stick production.
Once you have purchased your cookware sets and bakeware sets, learn how to clean them. Read the guidelines carefully, and you'll have pots and pans that may turn into heirlooms to pass down to your kids.

Getting Great Value for Your Best Cookware Sets Isn't The Same As Cheap

Great Cookware Sets Last Longer and Perform Better

If you're looking to purchase the best cookware sets, then you'll also want great value for your money.  If you want your cookware sets and bakeware sets to last, buying the inexpensive cookware products from the corner store isn't going to give you the best bang for the buck, nor will you be happy with the quality of food, or the longevity of the pots and pans.
If you are serious about updating your pans, there here's what you need to know when buying your cookware sets:

1. Kitchen cookware is an investment. Replacing pans and lids every few months, or have to try and screw the handles back on tight to continue using them isn't worth the cheap price (and shipping) you paid for.
2. Endurance cookware and hard wearing cookware that will last. That's what you want to purchase. You might think that it a waste of money to spend a lot on your saucepans, but you'll be using them so often, that just regular wear and tear will cause the minor league pans to fail.
3. How often do you want to replace your pans? What's your budget? If you take the cost of your cheap pans that get replaced every 6 - 12 months for 10 years, vs your Cookware Sets that cost a little more but last 12 to 15 years, I think you'll see the main picutre. Quality is King, and lasts a whole lot longer than generic brand X. I think this goes without explanation, but high quality products will be better made, and be more reliable. Not only will you enjoy cooking more, but your food will be much healthier for you too.
4. Cheaper and lesser quality kitchen pans often don't distribute heat evenly, the handles may not be the best, and the non-stick surfaces may actually scratch off during the cleaning process. New cookware are designed to also clean up well, take abuse, and deliver the same temperature throughout the pan.
5. Now just because they are new and cost a few more dollars, doesn't mean they'll take care of themselves. You will have to show them some care. But then again you'll actually want to. Remember, these are awesome cookware sets. They've helped you cook great meals, save money on going out to eat every night or order pizza. Not everyone wants pizza EVERY night, do they? So taking care of these little metal wonders should almost be second nature. Wash them, rinse them, store them, dry them, cook with them; repeat.

And remember, quality and value do go hand in hand, but cheap decreases both.

Which Cookware Set Should I Purchase?

Read These Cookware Set Reviews To See Which May Be Best Suited To Your Needs

Choosing a cookware set that saves you money also ensures that all the pieces in the set will match in quality, appearance, thickness and use. I've put together a list of brands for you to read through:

Calphalon Cookware
The Calphalon cookware is created from a process invented by NASA to create anodized aluminum cookware, a non-toxic product, which has the advantage of being very smooth yet hard, corrosion-free, and non-stick as well. After being produced for professional chefs, the company began making cookware sets for home use. Calphalon has a couple of different cookware product lines. The Calphalon One Infused cookware set combines the hard anodized aluminum material with a non-stick surface to produce extremely durable pots and pans. You can use them just about anywhere in the kitchen, on the stove, in the oven or under the broiler, and you can even use metallic utensils with them.

Paula Deen Cookware
Paula Deen's 12pc Porcelain Set comes in a variety of colors, and has endured many home as well as professional cooking kitchens. Her signature cast iron casserole dishes are highly sought after because of their even-heat design, as well as their colors and designs. Most people are satisfied with Paula's line and buy 2 different color sets, to match their different colors in the kitchen. Paula uses these pans on her TV show as well, so you know they have to "pass the test" to be on film.

Farberware SilverStone Culinary Set
The name of Farberware has been long known for its classic stainless steel cookware. Farberware has now introduced the Faverware Silverstone Set that have durable scratch resistant nonstick surfaces for easy cleaning and close fitting tempered glass lids that keep in flavors and nutrients while allowing you to check on the cooking process. The anti-warp prism base is durable and strong, and it provides even heating as well as a heat-resistant silicone rubber safety grip handle that is slip-free and comfortable to touch. Remains cool during stove top cooking. Riveted for safety and oven safe to 350°F.

As you can see, there are quite a few differences just in these three cookware sets. You'll have to read up on each brand you consider to buy, and make sure durability and design are in your top 5 criteria Whichever cookware set you decide to choose, you will be assured of many years of use. Again, price may be an issue, but buying the best quality cookware sets will offer you years of cooking happiness.
