    Great lens! People should really be more concerned about the type of dog breed they adopt and what they are like personality-wise. It's more important than having the newest trendy dog breed. Remember that this is a new member of your family that you will take care of for a long time!

    Awww, nobody ever mentions vizslas. They'd definitely be a handful for young kids, and require a lot of exercise, but the ones I've known are so cozy with the whole family and patient with kids.

    Great information. Our Bichon/Shih Tzu is nervous and a little snippy around children, while our German Shepherd is great with them.

    Great information. So important to take the dogs needs and the families needs into consideration when choosing a dog. Research is so important. Also to make sure dogs needs for exercise, mental stimulation and the right enviroment are able to be met to ensure a happy household for all.5 Stars!

    Hi Lulu. Right on! That's the case with all breeds. People need to do their homework and educate themselves and their children in proper dog ownership. Thank you for taking the time to comment. The breeder thing? You're right. You'd better be sure they're good. Messed up lines create messed up dogs

    The coton de tulear is a great dog for children if the child is given thoughtful training. This dog is happy and not snappy. It does not yap, but barks to announce visitors. It needs a brushout for its beautifl coat. Expensive but worth it!Careful choice of breeders necessary!

    The Bernese Mountain Dog makes a wonderful pet; and, is great with children. A patient dog. However, there are some spooky things going on with the breed. Breeders are trying to make giants out of them. Also, nervousness in some lines. I love this breed.
