Best Halloween Costumes for 2009

Well, it's almost here, one of my favorite times of the year.... Halloween! I just love all the decorations, the change of seasons, the trick or treaters, buying and handing out all the delicious candy, the scary movies, the costume parties and all the excitement that comes with it. I've loved Halloween ever since I was a child, as I'm sure most of you do too. What's not to love right? You get to decorate your house with lights, spider webs, witches, ghosts, and creepy coffins. If you go all out, like I do, then you also enjoy more special effects like a fog machine, while playing your scary sounds cd in the background. Why you may even use some of the famous scariest movie characters, like Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason, Dracula, the Werewolf and more. I love dressing up any way I want once a year and escaping to the land of make believe. Whether it's Harry Potter, Iron Man, Captain Jack Sparrow or Hannah Montana, you can pretend to be whoever you want for this one magical night to attend a party or just hand out candy to the trick or treaters making their way through the neighborhood. Halloween is so much fun for young and old and the costumes are much better today. They're even make really great costumes for babies, pets and now plus sizes too! What a great age we live in, we've come such a long way in costumes since I was a kid! If we wanted a really neat and unusual costume we had to somehow think of a way to make it ourselves. Not that you still can't do it yourself today, we did have a lot of fun trying to create them. But the standards today are set so much higher, so if you choose that route you might end up spending as much as you would buying one! Although, if you enjoy being creative it can be a great way to come up with a masterpiece, one-of-a-kind costume that no one else will have while having fun at the same time. Just price the materials you need against a pre-made costume and see which way would fit into your budget best. Don't forget to take into account the time you'll need to make it, if you don't have the time then buying one would obviously be the best choice.
