Home-Based Business Opportunities

As I try different systems, I will share my experiences here. Now, having said that, of course everyone is different. Maybe you can be extremely successful with a system that I wasn't able to get off the ground. And maybe something I get going just won't "click" for you.

I'll report on the good, the bad and the ugly from my perspective. You can take it with a grain of salt, or take it at face value. If you have any questions about anything I post, please feel free to ask. I will respond to every legitimate comment on my lens, or email in my inbox. But, please don't spam me with your home business, internet, money making opportunities. If you have a genuine question about an opportunity out there, feel free to ask, I may have tried it and I may have an opinion. But, don't try to get me to buy into your opportunity. That's not the way I roll.

So, fasten your seat belts, here we go!

eMillions is a collection of interviews with 14 successful internet marketing millionaires by teenager Stanley Tang. Here's my personal take on this book.

First, I'm going to make a confession. I haven't finished this book yet. I got it from Amazon a couple of days ago, and hadn't had the opportunity to sit down and read it. In fact, if I hadn't been in a car accident last night (car was totalled, but my son and I walked away fine except for some bruises and sore muscles - God is good!), I probably wouldn't have taken the time to start reading it this morning. But, having no transportation has given me limited options for the day.

So, why am I writing a review on a book I haven't even finished reading yet? Because I think it's that good! I just finished the interview with Jermaine Griggs, founder of HearandPlay.com. At 17, this kid turned $70 into a $3 million internet company. That's pretty impressive by any standards.

But, what I really like is his attitude. He highly suggests looking for a niche in internet marketing that fits the four Ps: Passion, Patience, Progression and Positivity. His own personal niche is incredibly "limited" yet, he has made millions in it, and his business continues to thrive.

(Attitude is something that I write about frequently. I think it is a defining factor in your life, not just your business. Your attitude can make or literally break you.)

Jermaine is also impressive because he is not ashamed to state that he's a Christian, and that he uses biblical principles in his internet marketing that have been a huge factor in his success.

If I had to sum up the interview with Jermaine, I would use one word - and it's one of my favorites - PASSION. He was passionate about his dream of changing the lives and circumstances of his family. He is passionate about his particular niche. He is passionate about setting, focusing on and achieving goals - not just for his internet marketing business, but for his life in general.

Ask yourself if the actions you are taking are bringing you closer to or further from your goals of being a successful internet network marketer?

Jermaine (or any of the people interviewed in Stanley Tang's book) didn't just stumble upon success. They worked for it. They chose to devote their time and energy toward learning and doing whatever they could to succeed.

This is one of the biggest problems I find in people who want to run their own business from home. They want a quick and easy way to make money that won't cost them anything -- either money or time. Well, frankly, that's unrealistic. You can create a profitable home business, but it's going to take a little of both. And, the less money you have to invest in your business, the more time you'll have to invest in it. You've probably heard your mother say this, but I'm going to say it again anyway: Money doesn't grown on trees!

Now that you've finished reading this book review, you have a choice: Are you going to take an action that takes you further away from your goal; or are you going to take a definite step in the direction of success in your internet network marketing business?

I hope you'll chose success.

You know you want to earn some extra money, and you know you don't want to go to another job away from home to do it. But, maybe you have no idea where to begin. Have you thought about eBay?

Let's face it, most of us have an abundance of "stuff" at home that we don't need. And, most of it is probably in decent enough condition that SOMEONE would be interested in it. So, why not sell it and make someone else happy while pocketing a little extra cash?

eBay is one of the quickest and easiest ways to dip your toes into the internet marketing waters. Just sign up for an account with eBay and with PayPal, and then start going through your house room-by-room looking for things you haven't used in 6 months or more. Come on, do you really need to hold onto that great keepsake if it's been packed away in a box for 2 years?

It isn't always easy to part with our long-held treasures, but in the end, you'll feel so much better. Not only will you have less clutter and more room in your house, but you'll have more money in your bank account too!

Search through the completed auctions at eBay to see how much other people have sold items for. If there are a variety of sales at different prices, see if you can figure out why. Did one listing have better pictures? Did one have a better description? What day of the week or time of day did the more successful bids end? Believe it or not, all of that can make a difference.

Another great thing about starting online at eBay is that you have a wonderful resource at the tip of your fingers for finding out what type of headlines and ad copy work. Pay attention to the opening bid amount as well. Sometimes starting at 99 cents can be better than starting at $10.

List a few things you no longer want or need. Remember, one man's junk is another man's treasure. eBay may be just the ticket to get you started on your journey of a home-based business.
