iPod speakers

because everyone needs a little loud in their life.

Choosing ipod speakers is a meticulous process.

You first have to find out which will work for your ipod. If you have a nano, make sure the speakers you are interested in are compatible with a nano. Same thing with iPod minis, videos, and shuffles.

Next, you have to determine the purpose of your speakers. Do you want them for a party? Do you want to use it as an alarm clock and charger? Do you need your speakers for travel?

If you need them for a party you should consider getting a larger sound system that can go very loud and can project.

If you need them in your bedroom. Get some with an alarm clock and remote for convenience and to make sure you wake up on time for work or school.

If you need them for travel make sure that they are small and compact and will charge your ipod as well. Charging is always a nice and convenient feature.

Once you find the perfect speakers for you, hunt the best price down online and in stores near you.

Make a felt ipod cover

How to Make an iPod Cover
Well, you finally bought an iPod. It looks so shiny and new that you just wish it would look like that forever. At least you can keep it shiny, new and safe by making your own felt iPod cover. Just follow the instructions below and you and your iPod will be all set to go!

Steps

Take your iPod and draw out a template on a piece of paper. Make the template twice the length + twice the thickness + a flap. The width of the template should be the same width as the iPod + twice the thickness.

Cut out your template. Trace your template on felt and cut out the felt shape.

Place your iPod in the center of the felt. Fold up the bottom of the felt so that it covers most of the front of the iPod. Pin the felt into place nice and tight.

Remove the iPod and tidy up the pins so that they are all straight. Slip the iPod back in to make sure it fits snug. Be careful not to scratch it with the pins.

Slip the iPod out again and cut off any excess felt at the sides. Snip the corners of the flap so that they are rounded.

Sew the sides of the iPod cover and remove the pins. Turn the whole thing inside out.

Cut out a rectangle (the size of your iPod's screen), a large circle (the size of the click wheel) and a smaller circle (the size of the click wheel button) out of white felt. Stitch them into place as shown.

Take a snap and stitch the top half to the inside of the flap. Stitch the bottom half of the snap on to the top of the inside flap. Insert iPod.

Tips
Make them in different colors and change them every few days for a new look.
Sew a heavy cloth strap on the back of the cover to act as a belt loop. Add Velcro pieces to the bottom end to make attachment and removal easier.
These would be great gifts for the holidays.
For those teens who look for extra cash, especially right before the holidays, make these, and sell them to friends and family.
Buy some funky felt that has a fun pattern on it, for some extra color!
These photos on this iPod cover are done on an iPod mini, but could be easily duplicated on a iPod Video, Nano, or other iPod.
Consider using Velcro or a button in place of the snap to keep from scratching the screen/surface of the iPod in the pouch.

]Warnings
Always be careful when working with needles and scissors. Children should have adult supervision.
Be careful when handling the iPod.

Make a duct tape ipod cover!

How to Make a Duct Tape Case for Your iPod Nano

For those of you who want a cheap, durable, cool-looking case for your iPod Nano without spending money, use this guide.

Steps
Go to http://sneakmove.com/docs/nano/diy_ipod_nano_case.pdf

Thumbnail screenshot of the pattern found at http://sneakmove.com/docs/nano/diy_ipod_nano_case.pdf

Go to File, click Print, click the drop-down menu labeled page scaling, and select None. Then hit Print. This will print the template full-size.
Before cutting out the template, duct tape the entire back of the actual cut-out in whatever color duct tape you desire.
Cut out the template, following the instructions on the paper. Use scissors.
Once it is cut out, take an exacto-knife, and gently run over the fold lines. This will weaken the paper for much easier and straighter folds.
Fold the template where indicated.
Take your exacto-knife, and punch through the screen and click wheel areas.
Stick scissors through the slit on each one, and carefully cut them out.
Use an exacto-knife to cut out the headphone jack and USB port connection. Alternatively, at the end, stick the headphones into the headphone jack when there is no hole. This will show you where it is, and you can cut the excess off.
Wrap the case around the Nano.
Find where the Hold button is, and cut around it.
Duct tape the case in place around the Nano, without duct taping the iPod itself.
For extra screen protection, put a piece of clear packing tape on both sides of the screen cutout.
Enjoy!

Tips
You don't have to use duct tape; you can use things like gum wrappers, decorated paper, and other things if you stick them to the template with double sided tape.

]Warnings
Always be cautious when using sharp objects
The paper will scratch ipods over time.

Things You'll Need
An iPod Nano
Duct tape
The template found at the above website
Scissors
An exacto-knife
Clear packing tape

Make an orbit gum package nano case!

How to Make an iPod Nano Case from an Orbit Gum Package
Don't want to pay $40 for that new Nano case? You've come to the right place! Learn how to make a Nano case for (nearly) free out of an Orbit gum package.

Steps
Lay the gum package flat on a table.
Using the template below (see External Links), cut a screen inside the package.

Thumbnail screenshot of the pattern found at http://sneakmove.com/docs/nano/diy_ipod_nano_case.pdf
Put mailing tape on the left and right sides of the gum package "screen," forming a non-sticky layer of protection for the Nano's actual screen.
Place the package, still flat, on top of the Nano.
Wrap the Orbit package around the Nano, and tape the package together in the rear of the Nano, forming the complete case.

Tips
Use foam for casing. Harder materials will scratch your Nano.
If you want, you can Velcro the flap and the case together so you have an easy way to close and open it.

Warnings
Make sure that your model of iPod is an iPod Nano.
When using scissors on the case, make sure the iPod is not in the case.
Be careful not to leave dirt or fingerprints on the sticky sides of the tape when putting together the screen protection.
Remember that the metal plate on the back of your iPod is in fact intended to disperse heat that is the plague of all electronics. Leave room for your iPod to breathe.

Things You'll Need
Orbit case
scissors
clear mailing tape
a glue stick
iPod Nano
Velcro (optional)
