Quality questions and answers on Lost
The Lost producers have made clear from the beginning of the show that everything could be explained by realistic pseudo science. So only 'realistic' theories can be found here.
I have added some fascinating links to this lens e.g. the Timelooptheory, the EYE M SICK blog, Jeff Jensen's ramblings on Lost and the SD Wynn theories. I will add more really great stuff when I stumble upon it.
I would love to hear your thoughts about Lost and about your opinion on the best theories in particular. What do you think is going on in Lost? Which theory is the best one out there? Actually I dare you, do you claim to know a better theory?

What Do You Think Of The End Of LOST?
What's your opinion? Was it satisfying? Or did they do a lousy job?
Great Explanation of the End of LOST
How will Lost end?
What answers and new questions will the last season bring us?
The sixth and last Lost season has started! We all are wondering how Lost will end. Lost season 6 is called 'Destiny Found'. Will we find the answers we want? For those of us who are not so patient and can't wait until the end of the show there are few places on the Internet which provide absolute quality theories, insights, points of view, and answers to Lost questions. Of course no one can say for sure his or her answer is exactly what the Lost writers mean with the TV series. But I think that the websites and blogs I have listed in this Lens are pretty close to what Lost is all about. So to summarize; this Lens is about quality answers to Lost questions. Many of those theories, questions and answers are from such a high quality that they can be considered Lost spoilers.
Questions like: How will Lost end? How about the mythological references in the show? Who really are the bad guys? If it's not an island then what is it? And one of my personal favorites, is Ben a good or a bad guy? Subsequently; is MIB really the bad guy?

The end of Lost season 6 will be "a highly anticipated and shocking finale."
How Will LOST End?
This is not my own prediction but one that is all over the Internet. I would LOVE to hear your opinions on how LOST will end.

Regarding the Lost Sequel / Spinoff:
"The definitive edition of Lost ends this May on ABC, and that is the story that we have to tell. It has a beginning, middle and end. That ending will not have cliffhangers, or be set up in such a way that people will be saying, 'Clearly they're going to make more of these'." (Cuse/Lindelof)
The Circle
original title of Lost TV show
Who are Adam and Eve?
The producers have explicitly stated that the identity of Adame and Eve is central to the mystery of the island.
One of the predictions on how Lost will end is that Jack and Kate are Adame and Eve. (thanks for your input Hani) I think this is interesting. So I went to Lostpedia to read more about Adam and Eve theories. Of the many different ideas on who Adam en Eve might be I found this one the most plausible and interesting:
"Jack and Kate are the first people we see on the Island in the very first episode of the show. Jack first, and then Kate finds in the jungle and helps him with his injury, a cut on his ribs, all of which is a reference to the biblical Adam and Eve."
But then again, there are also good explanations for other theories. Every time you think to have figured out something you end up being wrong, which is emblematic for Lost and is one of the factors that makes this show that much intriguing.
For example, this post on The Lost Elders Blog has a short but interesting theory on Desmond and Penny being Adam and Eve.
Your Opinion on Adam and Eve
What do you think of Adam and Eve's identity. Who will they turn out to be?
Debunked theories
Theories discredited by the Lost producers
- Purgatory
- Aliens/ Spaceships
- Time travel ( in the 'conventional' sense) more about that later.
- Clones
- Nanobots (the black cloud)
- Reality TV
- It's all inside someone's mind
- Dinosaurs
Confirmed by the Lost producers
A few things we know for sure.
- The numbers ( 4,8,15,16,23,42) are related to the Valenzetti Equation.
- The four toed statue is a remnant of former inhabitants of the island.
- The plain did not crash by accident, it crashed for a very specific reason (Damon Lindelof)
"She is there on the island looking for somebody and she's looking for something. She will know who it is when she finds that person. She also believes she has the answer." Sheila Kelley (Zoe)
Where Will Science and Magic Meet?
bridging the gap between science and belief
I was wondering for a while when we would be enlightened about the meaning of the presence of the electromagnetic anomalies and what this has to do with all the magic, the time traveling, and so on. So I did some searching on Zoe which seems to me will play a big role into this. I found this interview with Sheila Kelley on Yahoo's OMG."She wants to bring the concrete world of physics and geology into much more esoteric happenings, like time travel and the energy of the island. She's bridging the gap between science and belief. It's a strong theme throughout the whole show."

Ultimate Lost theories and fascinating insights
The SD Wynn theories.
These theories are static, in contrary to the theories listed below these are not the results of bloggers showing their newest thoughts and insights after each episode. In fact the SD Wynn theories are a few years old but nevertheless very interesting. Especially because of the mythological references.
One of the all time greatest theories actually consists of three separate blog posts. They each have their own angle. They are not about time travel but they are about many other fascinating elements of the show. Ok that's not completely true, one of them is a bit about traveling in time but that's a detail. Just to give you an idea; this guy has convinced me that Charlie isn't dead. Of course dead and alive are relative terms in Lost but I now know Charlie will get back. And I like that. I don't know about you but I could never understand why Charlie had to die. Charlie Rocks! Furthermore he also has some gripping ideas about the purpose of the Swan station and the Staff station. Curious? Then read on:
The Great Gedanken Experiment
Plato's Atlantis Rebuilt as the Osirian Clock ticks to Apocalypse
Lost in the Kabbalah: A passion play of Isis, Osiris & Horus This one is about how Charlie represents Osiris and Claire Isis and Aaron Horus. About the Djed Pillar or Casket of Osiris and more interesting ideas. I think its really convincing. A must read imo.
I haven't found any new theories of SD Wynn. I would love to read more from him but anyway these theories are fantastic.
The EYE M SICK blog
This really is a mind blowing blog on Lost. The poster, Bigmouth, writes the most exciting things about Lost mysteries. Do you want to know how the Black Rock ended up on the island? Or what happens when the donkey wheel is turned? Want to know more about the test the young Locke has to take? Very diverse topics that are each fantastic. If you are a real Lost fan and are interested in quality insights and the all time best theories you have to read this blog. Seriously.

The Timelooptheory Revised
As far as I know this guy was one of the first to write about Lost and time travel. He has just revised his theory for season 5 so it's still entertaining. Check it out!

There are many great theories on the ABC TV show Lost. It is amazing what some people come up with trying to explain the mysteries of the popular TV series. But like I said, there are a few that are really outstanding. Those people show knowledge of all sorts of disciplines like mythology, ancient cultures, quantum mechanics, history and psychology. They have written some very interesting theories about all kinds of Lost mysteries.
I know there are many of these types of sites but this is one of my favorites.

megan roach, at 12pm on May 21, 2010 predicts:
Since the writers said that the Island was not purgatory, all accusations of Heaven and Hell have to be off the table. The only other common predictions are that A.) Jack wakes up after the crash, B.) Hugo's imagination is TOO ridiculous, or C.) After Jack accepted the role of "Jacob", the scene of the MIB and Jacob at the statue is replicated. Personally, I'd be pissed if either A or B happen; that would just be lazy writing. C sounds like it WOULD happen. Of course, we don't know what happens within the two and a half hours of the show, and we need a new MIB, because if Jacob's dead, the MIB is bound to somehow die as well. He never gets off the island. The new MIB could be Sawyer, that's an obvious prediction. But to make it more entertaining, Claire could become the MIB, since the MIB and Jacob WERE brothers. And the MIB wasn't planned for, neither was Claire.
But, in the beginning of the show, Locke described the monster as being "beautiful." So who's to say he even ever died? What if he always was the MIB, inevitably? Maybe through a relation or so?
There's no certain prediction. Anything can, and WILL happen in LOST. I just hope my favorite ol' Hurley doesn't die, and if he does, that it's epic, just like him! :)

Great theory about the meaning of Lost or the Lost mythology

- What is the major similarity between Lost and the bible?
- Is Lost a complaint against today's society?
Jeff Jensen has some interesting explanations.
Unofficial Lost Season 6 Trailer.
Specific Lost questions
"We are the good guys Michael" is what Benjamin Linus said in episode 23 of season 2. I have always had mixed feelings towards Ben's role in the show. No matter what he did I couldn't suppress the gut feeling that Ben still is a good guy. Especially after the fourth season. Ben's power is deteriorating and he is now also a victim. The producers have made us think there are much bigger enemy's. So who is the real enemy? Does it appear to be Ben after all? Is it Widmore? The Dharma Initiative or do we have to look in another direction? I have read a short but interesting theory about this subject.
The third party
MIB Is The Cork
a little 'theory' of my own
The reason of keeping MIB on the island might be to avoid the electromagnetic, magical powers, the sickness which has probably influenced Claire and possibly Sayid, being spread around the world. I don't know. As I said I am not good at theorizing. I just have a gut feeling I am onto something. Would love to know what you guys think. Are you with me that the analogy doesn't quite fit? And maybe even that MIB is the cork?
I also doubt that Jacob is good and MIB is bad. I am convinced they stand for yin and yang. According to Wikipedia: "Yin yang are complementary opposites within a greater whole. Everything has both yin and yang aspects [....] There is a common misperception (especially in the West) that yin and yang correspond to good and evil." We have seen Jacob doing bad things and MIB just seems not all that bad to me. Yin and yang are interconnected and belong to each other. A separation would disrupt the balance.
I haven't watched the last episode (The Package) yet so these ramblings might already be disproven.
MIB Is The Cork?
sense or non-sense?
Or according to you maybe Jacob is the cork? Let me know what you think..

What do you think the island is?
It is not an island, it's a place where miracles happen..
Interview with the Lost producers:
Damon Lindelof: If an Island is defined by land mass surrounded by water, they are on an Island.
Carlton Cuse: Right, that's good.
Damon Lindelof: Right.
Carlton Cuse: Yeah, I don't think we should say anything more than that.
Damon Lindelof: Yes, that's how....
Carlton Cuse: That's right.
Damon Lindelof: This is about definitive answers. We have defined the term Island; we've confirmed that we are, in fact, on one.
Carlton Cuse: And it's surrounded by water.
Damon Lindelof: It is.
Carlton Cuse: But everything beyond that is kind of up for grabs. (interview from Lostpedia)
When Jack says it is just an island Locke replies that it isn't an island but a place where miracles happen. I will add theories addressing this particular question soon. Some say the island actually is a spaceship. Others think it originally was a comet that hit the earth. Some are convinced it is an man made structure like an oil rig or something. What do you think the island is?

I learned by reading this blogpost which I found because the title Where's the money Richard immediately got my interest.

I believe the island is a stop where your own Conscious is the Judge and weather your are deem as good or bad, The Candiates are deem as good and will go on to the next level where they will have their idea of heaven.
