5 Critical Questions To Ask Yourself Before Preparing Your Speech

You can actually prepare your speech just by asking yourself these questions and then taking your ideas and crafting them into a nice toast.
Ask yourself:
1. How do you know the groom and the bride?
2. Why did they choose you as your best man?
3. How would you describe them both? What are the first four or five things that come to mind when you'll mention their names?
4. What was the groom before meeting the bride? How has he changed knowing her? (this is a great part to pimp the bride ego :) )
5. How did they two meet? What did the groom tell you about her?
6. If you happen to be married, can you possible share some marriage advice with the couple?
7. Can you tell some funny or entertaining anecdotes about you and the groom or you and the bride?
And now, let me introduce you to one powerful concept to attracting the guests' attention...
One Great Way To Get Guests Attention

Let me introduce you to...
quotes.
Maybe the best way to attract the guest's attention is to tell a quote at the beginning. You can use these too during your speech.
Here are some great marriage quotes:
Love: a temporary insanity, curable by marriage.
Love is blind, but marriage restores its sight.
Never trust a husband too far, nor a bachelor too near.
All weddings are similar, but every marriage is different.
Marriage is our last, best chance to grow up.
If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married.
Only two things are necessary to keep one's wife happy. One is to let her think she is having her own way, the the other, to let her have it.
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
A good marriage is at least 80 percent good luck in finding the right person at the right time. The rest is trust.
The secret to having a good marriage is to understand that marriage must be total, it must be permanent, and it must be equal.
What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility.
Any fool can have a trophy wife.
It takes a real man to have a trophy marriage.

By the way, for those of you who are speech haters, here's one alternative...below...
Write a poem instead of speech!

Yes, that's right! It's original and many people love it. Especially with rhyme. I once read this idea from a best man who reported he had great results after reciting a poem for his friend on the wedding.
Writing a poem is quite a surprise...when all the guests expect a speech.
Now, let me tell you about some things that are FORBIDDEN to do before and while your speech...
Get pre-written speeches?

There are many pre-written wedding speeches on the net you can use. Just use Google or Yahoo to find them.
The thing is, I was looking for something different. I was looking for something relatively cheap and good. So I found Wedding Speeches 4 U which is a great product that will tell you 10x more than the advice you see here. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it.
DON'T DO THIS

1. Don't drink before the wedding speech
OK, one glass of wine is fine. Five glasses are not. Everyone loves a drink but NOBODY loves a drunk...
2. Don't try too hard
Be natural. Don't force your speech. After all, it's like speaking with your best friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
3. Don't hurt other people feelings
Don't tell about the groom's ex-girlfriends because that might hurt the bride. You get what I'm saying? Also, telling your religious beliefs is a no-no because there might be someone in the crowd who might get offended.
