Get The DIRT on the Best Mascara

Shopping online can be one frustrating and exhausting adventure consisting of review reading and akward website navigation. We have laid it all out here, when it comes to mascara, anyway. After going through countless tubes of mascara and trying every brand name possible, three of the best mascaras were chosen mainly because they are in a class of their own. The top 3 mascaras are on display and the rest of them critiqued or forgotten. Follow the adventure of finding the best mascara for you, and you too can have endless eyelashes. From loreal to lancome, from mac to maybelline, from cover girl to chanel- I've tried it all. And I am here to tell you about my experience, so you can save some money and avoid the bad ones.

MASCARA #3

Bare Escentuals: Magic Wand

With the wave of this magic wand you can create the never-ending lashes you've always dreamed about. The unique design of this mascara allows you to individually coat each lash one at a time from every angle for fuller, longer-looking lashes. It also works magic when layered over your favorite mascara for added volume. The overall effect is like wearing false eyelashes.

This mascara truly is shaped like a wand- there is no brush! While it is not the best mascara to use in a rush because it is like drawing your lashes on, I will give it tops for length. If you want to really make your eyelashes long for a special event, try using both the magic wand and a brush mascara.

MASCARA #2

Lancome's: Hypnose

Dare to go up to 6 times the volume. With each stroke, the patented POWERFULL brush intensifies lashes from root to tip. Exclusive, fluid SoftSculpt %u2122 formula, enriched with Vitamin B5, wraps lashes one luxurious layer at a time without smearing, smudging or clumping.

RESULT:
Custom volume you control for hypnotic eyes.

This is the mascara that just makes you have those sultry, THICK lashes. If you like the heavy and very think mascara, this is money to you - buy it and notice the difference!

6 STEPS TO BETTER LASHES - A FOOLPROOF GUIDE TO APPLYING MASCARA

There's nothing like a layer or two of mascara to help you accentuate your eyes-and face the world in style.

You Will Need
A mirror
Mascara
A paper towel
And an eyelash comb
An eyelash curler (optional)
Some eyeliner (optional)
And a handheld mirror (optional)

Step 1: Curl lashes & apply eyeliner
If you plan to do so, curl your lashes and apply eyeliner before applying any mascara.

Step 2: Remove the wand
Remove the wand from the tube of mascara and wipe any excess mascara onto the paper towel.

Don't pump the wand in and out of the tube-this puts air into the tube and dries out the mascara.

Step 3: Hold wand
Hold the wand horizontally, parallel with your eyelid, on the underside of your upper lashes.

Step 4: Apply mascara
Starting at the roots, slowly draw the brush upwards in a zigging, zagging motion. Use just the tip of the wand to define the outer lashes of your eye.

Looking straight into a mirror only shows you the tips of your lashes. Hold a hand mirror below your eyes and look down into it to see if your roots are covered.

Step 5: Wait for coat to dry
Wait at least a minute for the coat to dry. Then add another if needed.

If you have light lashes or want a more dramatic look, add a coat of mascara to your bottom lashes.

Step 6: Get rid of clumps
Before your lashes dry, run an eyelash comb through them to get rid of any clumps. Now bat those beauties at whomever you please.

Mascara is a cosmetic used to darken, lighten, colour, thicken, lengthen, or define eyelashes. Mascara comes in three forms: liquid, cake, and cream. It also comes in many formulas, tints, and colours.

Mascara is available in tubes with wand applicators. Ingredients in mascara include water, wax thickeners, film-formers, and preservatives. Mascara brushes can be straight or curved, to curl eyelashes, with fine or thick bristles. Some mascara wands contain rayon or nylon fibers to lengthen eyelashes.

An eyelash or simply lash is one of the hairs that grow at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same function as whiskers do on a cat or a mouse in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object (such as an insect or dust mite) is near the eye (which is then closed reflexively).

The greek word for eyelash is "blepharis". This word is often used as a root in biological terms (Blepharis, Kathablepharis, etc.)
