I have not used the fax or scanner, but everything else works fine.Was not hard to install.I did not realize that you would have to turn over every sheet of paper that you want to print on both sides. I have not used the two-sided printing as of yet. I would recommend this product to others.

PhotobucketBrother HL-2170w 23ppm Laser Printer I received this printer yesterday, and it took me several hours to setup the wireless network. The major problem I believe is the documentation. I tried to set up the printer from my wired power mac. Apparently it is a quite straightforward process if setting up the wireless from mac book with wireless networking.

In a word, if you set it up the wireless using wireless networked macbook or windows laptop (I guess), it is pretty simple. Otherwise, you may run into the painful process I experienced.

I use my home printer very sparingly, at times I even go without using it for months - but when I am in real need of it, the printer either complaints about the Ink cartridge or does a real awful job at printing. So I decided that I had enough with Ink jets and started shopping around for a Laser preferably All-In-Ones (for space saving). This printer came highly recommended by friends/co-workers and the reviews really piqued my interest. I wasn't disappointed when I got it. Very compact in dimensions and elegant looking, my better-half was very much satisfied. Installation was a breeze, I was surprised that even wireless set up was very intuitive. I have a WPA enabled wireless network, the printer immediately found my network and prompted me to select encryption and subsequently the pass-phrase (which I used to generate my PSK(Pre Shared Key)). You have to assign a Node name and an IP address (Static or Auto/DHCP) for it if you plan to use as a network printer (Set up will guide you). I could have used it with a wired connection, since it sits next to my desktop, but I couldn't find any noticeable difference in performance in both the modes and decided against it - why bother with the wire( Again - better-half is very much satisfied). Functionally its amazing for printing, copying and faxing - Neat and crisp print and very fast in churning out pages too (though I didn't clock it), than my previous Ink Jet, where I would have to wait for minutes to get this much quality printout. Copying was fun because of the auto-document feeder, you don't have to stand around swapping the pages - it was like using the copier at work. Though I would have liked a little more optical scanning resolution and scanning speed is a little slower for high resolution setting, but for your personal use its more than enough, at least for me it was. Also since it is on the network, I can connect to the printer from my laptop too - by using the node name that I had earlier setup. I purchased it when the price was $285, but couple of weeks later the price dropped to its current price at $215 - and Amazon readily refunded me the difference when contacted.

Canon MP620 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer
The Canon MP620 is an outstanding all in one inkjet printer and copy machine. Very easy to set up direct or wireless. Much like the MP610 with some improvements. Uses 5 cartridges. I recomend you stick with the Canon cartridge because you might run into a bad off brand which could screw up your machine. Many use off brands and I have also as they are inexpensive. This machine at around $129 is a steal. Why the MP610 is still selling for near $150 makes no sense. The printer companies could give them away and still make money if you buy their ink cartridges. As I say Canon is a great manufacturer and this MP620 should satisfy all but the experts needs. The copy part is fast and easy. The entire set-up screen is easy and self explanatory. This is my second MP620. I have one at my office also. I wish these companies would standardize their cartridges but ever new printer has different cartrides for obvious reason to make the real money with ink cartridges. Five new cartridges cost almost as much as the printer so if it ever breaks it may be better to just buy a new one that comes with 5 cartridges than fix it. Still an outstanding machine. You will probably like it. I use a Mac with OS 10.4.11 if you are interested (G4 & G5)

Received the printer on time. Set up was easy and compatable with Windows Vista. The printer itself is slow starting on B&W & color copies.Scanning a item or picture is a little more challenging. The software could be more computer friendly for seniors. Overall very happy with printer and Amazon. Will continue to shop regularly....

Canon PIXMA MX860 Wireless All-In-One Photo Printer
I usually don't bother writing reviews on Amazon products, but I was compelled to for this product because I love this printer! I was unsure about getting this printer because of all of the functionality it offers at a relatively lower price point, but I love this printer. It is a true multi-function printer - scan, copy, photo printing, and FAX. Most so-called "all in ones" have only three out of the four. The wireless setup was a little tricky and took a few hours given that I have a Mac but once setup it works like a dream. Tech support was great. It even has the extras like Energy Star rating and a sharp and convenient LCD screen. This is truly a heavy duty machine that is perfect for a home office or small business. It handles heavy jobs with ease and even lets you save paper with its innovative automatic double-sided printing. Very handy. I highly recommend this printer!

I have just recently installed the HP P1006 Laser Jet , WOW it prints FAST FAST,FAST. I have printed envelopes and I am using my Dell with Vista operating system. I love it !! Beware of buying it from E-Bay, they were for sale there at [...] BUT NO TONER CARTRIDGE!! You have to be careful. BEST PRICE AS OF THIS DATE? NEWEGG.com I got my printer in 3-days, complete. NO TAX, and NO shipping charges!!! :-)

Canon MP980 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer
Photobucket Love it! I haven't even printed photos yet, but I've been scanning in old family slides. They came out great. You load 4 slides at once and it saves them as 4 separate files - takes about 2 minutes to do 4 slides. I have hundreds of slides to get through, but it is such a painless process with this machine. Plus, the auto fix option works great. I just need to finish before Father's day so I can load all of the slides onto a digital photo frame for my dad!

Great results when printing photos. Software did not download properly. Have to access scanner through a photo program. System reads different version than disc. Inks smudges when even slightly wet.
Cheap HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer
I was able to set the printer up with wirelessly but when I was installing the CD on my computer I ran into problems. It was able to detect my printer but at the very end said the printer could not be installed. I had to Chat with a Tech support with no luck and finally called HP (open 24 hours 7 days a week) for support. After 4 hours of trying to get it intalled it finally worked thanks to the Tech Support.

I love this printer. I have had absolutely no problems with paper or installing it. I have a MacBook with leopard and it works just excellent. I print essays and photos and it works just great. It's also relatively light and not bulky. Scans with a good quality. My roommates used it too. Fore me it was well worth every penny.
Brother MFC-7420 Flatbed Laser Multi-Function Center
I purchased this MFC a few years back and initially used it only sparingly to print a few documents and maybe receive the odd fax or two. Today, I decided to digitize into PDF format a 100 page paper document that had been sitting on my shelf for some time. The Control Center software that I updated from the web for Windows Vista was only able to scan single sided documents, which was frustrating because most documents are double sided. A quick web search led to the solution: the Scansoft PaperPort software that comes with the Brother MFC 7420 does the trick. After spending some time learning how to use the software and experimenting with the settings, I have the output that I want. Now I can toss away the paper document and keep the PDF file for my records!

Photobucket I purchased this multi-function printer primarily to save on ink. Trying to keep three printers in fresh ink is expensive, because two of them were not being used very much and the ink cartridges kept drying up. Unfortunately, one of my computers runs Windows 98 and the Brother printer doesn't come with a driver that allows me to connect wirelessly to the Windows 98 computer, but eliminating two printers is still a saving. And in all other respects the Brother has been excellent. Easy setup, completely wireless connection, and excellent prints. The paper tray is a little flimsey, but with care it should hold up ok. I've not tried all it's features yet but I'm very happy with it so far. I especially like the fact that it uses 3 separate color cartridges.

This is a good printer for the money paid. It works well but the only problem (which is small and just requires a bit of time) is there are no instructions on how to use the scanner feature. Overall, I'm satisfied with this product.
Discount Canon iP4600 Inkjet Photo Printer (2909B002)
Just received the printer today. I did not need an all-in-one, so I went with the 4600. Setup was a bit slow, but I was very careful handling the ink etc and making sure I knew what I was doing. My intial results are pleasing. I am very pleased with the photo printing. I printed only one text document, but it seems good enough for my needs under the standard setting. Printing for me is reasonably quiet. Obviously, I don't know if it is an ink hog. Prices for inks are inflated for most manufacturers, which is a drag. I would be nice if ink prices were more reasonable. So far, a good choice.
Cheap Canon PIXMA MX700 Office All-On-One Inkjet Printer
The Canon was easy to set up. Plug in, inserted disc. All went as it was supposed to. The trickiest part is figuring both front and rear and top paper feeds. It's a bit more than I need as far as fax goes, (with home use I rarely send faxes, but nice to have capability. But was more interested in printing, documents, drawings,etc., scaning photos, and drawings for projects, plus it accepts memory card from my camera and printing pictures, is great. Did not have problems with cleaning printer heads as others have reported. Love it.

I received this printer for Christmas, and I absolutely love it! The quality of the pictures is great! I like the fact that I can print out the pictures in my craft room, instead of having to do it from our office printer ....I use it all the time when I'm scrapping! The other thing I love is the ability to print different sizes (ex. 2 jumbo wallets, or 4 wallets)on the 4X6 photo paper! I would definitely recommend this portable printer to others!
HP Photosmart D7560 Printer
We purchased this the HP Photosmart D7560 printer as a replacement for a low end HP printer when it failed recently. At first we did not think we needed this new printer because we do not print that many photographs but the price seemed reasonable even so and we make the purchase. Wow, what resolution and the color is even better than what we've got from photo labs. It prints rather nicely in regular black and white and color for correspondance and quick print of drawings and other printable items. We like that we can change individual ink cartridges when necessary. Recommend this printer for anyone and everyone, home office, student, hobby photographer, every day needs.
