Puppies are beginning to play with one another. Their little eyes are opened and the color is beginning to form. I can tell a few pups will have 1 or 2 blue eyes. I do not want to tell you who they are yet! Angel's puppies are sleeping about 5 hrs at night which is great. They are like babies they love to sleep during the day and play and feed until 1am. The breeder role reminds me of baby stages in our kid lives. When you are in the midst of getting up in the middle of the night and all the babies seem to do is eat and sleep you wonder if they will ever begin to become more self sufficient. I keep reminding myself to enjoy every minute. In a short 9 weeks they will be in their new homes and we will miss them greatly. Maskie's puppies are a week old and doing well. They are still just hanging out eating and sleeping lots. I do put all the pups in a playpen during the day right now so they can enjoy each other company and warmth

How did we end up with 2 litters at the same time? We have made several attempts to breed with a well known Oes breeder who has a ton of Champions and has dedicated her life to the breed! Sadly none of the breeding took over the last 2 years. We thought it might have been our girls. North Central Texas is bracing itself for the delivery of 2 sets of Old English Sheepdog Puppies. Our 6 year old female Angel due around labor day 2009 and Masqurade, due 2 weeks later. Take a look around, we will update this site often and might even get our webcamera to work so you can view the puppies live.

We live in Denton county near Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. We have been active in the North Texas Sheepdog rescue for 7 plus years. I personally have been apart of rescueing 6 dogs at once who were left outside in 100 degree plus heat without food or water! Old English are great dogs but are lots of responsiblity to own. Texas Oes rescue is a great Organization full of people who truely care about the breed.

Sally Gay the DFW Texas OES rescue volunteer of the area for 10 plus years sadly passed away in spring of 2008 from cancer. She was the breeder of the female Masqurade. Sally was a part of the show dog world and was proud of the Devonshire line who has Love N Stuff dogs from California. Sally's last wish from me was to breed Maskie what we didnt expect was for both dogs to be preggo at the same time. Sadly I missed the Rescue picnic in May! I really had wanted to attend but due to work schedule conflicts I could not attend.

A few words to Donna Schott! Stephen was a great attribute to the OES rescue orgainzation and a wonderful family man. Stephen and his wife Donna are one of the mostly kind hearted people on this earth. I know Stephen Schott will be missed greatly by All who knew him. I was privilaged to know the Schotts through rescue and also completed a real estate transaction for them in the dfw area. I will be posting a link to the OES rescue sight! Not all families are designed for a puppy! Consider Pet stores,Puppy Mills are all the same in my opinion - Stay Clear Good Breeders should tell you details of personality,temperament of the parents,grandparents. Dogs and pups should always be raised as part of a loving family and not just kept in the backyard as a status symbol. Dog owners should be involved in the development of the pup from the day they are born Training and Grooming are essential when owning this breed Hip x-rays with OFA certification are imparative. Vaccinations and tail dockings should be done by the vet - not the breeder AKC registration and Certified Pedigree
