Best Pink Floyd Songs
My Personal Top 10
- Time(Dark Side of the Moon 1973)
This song is probably my favorite Floyd track of all time. The lyrics, in are amazing and Gilmour's voice is phenomenal. Plus it features a great guitar solo. - Childhood's End(Obscured by Clouds 1972)
This is one of those tracks that is a little known gem. Not too many people seem to know this track because it is from an album which did not gain much fame. Nonetheless, it is one of the greatest songs they made and is most definitely something any Pink Floyd fan should hear. - Fat Old Sun(Atom Heart Mother 1970)
This is also a track which is not widely known. But once you hear it, you will fall in love with it if you appreciate Floyd. This track is very mellow, and has a great relaxing sound to it. David Gilmour has an incredible voice and this song demonstrates it to the fullest. - Breathe in the Air(Dark Side of the Moon 1973)
The second track on Dark Side of the Moon and is one of the more popular Pink Floyd songs. This song is amazing, like most of the tracks on the album. - Atom Heart Mother(Atom Heart Mother 1970)
Atom Heart Mother is the first track on the album and is quite long. It has pretty much no lyrics, but the sound and the instrumentals on this track are spectacular. The melody is great and this is my favorite non-vocal track. - Shine on You Crazy Diamond(Wish You Were Here 1975)
Split across two tracks at the beginning and the end of the album, Shine on You Crazy Diamond is a tribute to Syd Barret. This track features a long insturmental buildup and then kicks in with amazing vocals. - Echoes(Meddle 1971)
Another very long track by the band. This track has incredible lyrics at the beginning and the end. Great sounding, mellow track. The only thing I wish, is that there were more lyrics and less weird sounds in the middle of the song. But otherwise, still a must. - Fearless(Meddle 1971)
I am not sure if I can categorize this track properly, but it sounds great. I never skip this track when I pop in the Meddle CD. - Julia Dream(Relics 1971)
One of the more obscure Pink Floyd songs, but nonetheless a great mellow track. - Green is the Colour(More 1969)
Another very mellow song. Very beautiful sound. Soft and relaxing. I only wish it was a bit longer.

- Two of my most all-time favorite Floyd albums were The Dark Side of the Moon and Animals. These two albums were awesome and they still sound so fresh even today! I never get tired of listening to them! I'll add this lens to the list of my Floyd favorites and I thank you for sharing this! By the way, you would also like to take a look at this site that offers cheap personal checks & you can even put some PF images on it! I got this idea from my wife who bought her own butterfly personal checks & she was the one who provided the pictures! anyway, thanks for the lens again & it earned another 5 stars from me!

Pink Floyd - Childhood's End
You shout in your sleep Perhaps the price was just too steep Is your conscience at rest If once put to the test You awake with a start To just the beating of your heart Just one man beneath the sky Just two ears just two eyes You set sail across the sea Of long past thoughts and memories Childhood's end your fantasies Merge with harsh realities And then as the sail is hoist You find your eyes are growing moist And all the fears never voiced Say you have to make the final choice Who are you and who am I To say we know the reason why Some are born some men die Beneath one infinite sky There'll be war and there'll be peace But everything one day will cease All the iron turned to rust All the proud men turned to dust So all things time will mend So this song will end.

Time - Pink Floyd
This is Time (The Dark Side of the Moon, 1973), from Pink Floyd, live at P.U.L.S.E; recorded at Earls Court, London, in 1994. Roger Waters, one of the the composers of Time, is not in this show. Current members of Pink Floyd are: David Gilmour (guitars, lead vocals) • Richard Wright(keyboards, secondary vocals, backing vocals) • Nick Mason(drums, percussion); Lyrics: Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells. _______________________ Ripped, edited, and encoded by me. I did my best to maintain the quality, but for some reason there is a problem of sync, with some audio lag. Please enjoy the wonderful music. http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/
