The Disney World Passporter
The best Walt Disney World guide book?

Save 32% on PassPorter's Walt Disney World 2010 Today!
As you can imagine, there are many travel guides vying for the title of "The Best Walt Disney World Guide Book." However, only one can arguably claim it. With over twenty-six five-star reviews on Amazon.com, Passporter's Walt Disney World 2010 is extremely popular. Just two months into the new year, the 2010 version has already surpassed the ratings earned by its 2009 predecessor, and the numbers will undoubtedly climb.
The Disney World Passporter is not your ordinary guide book. Yes, there is that component, but that's hardly all there is to it. Among the unique features included are full-color fold-out maps of both the parks and the resort hotels, worksheets and checklists for planning your itinerary, and fourteen handy organizer pockets for storing keepsakes and important trip documents. With over 300 pages of information, advice, and photos, this Disney travel guide does it all ... and then some.
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2010
The Competition

Save over 40% on The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2010
Bob Sehlinger and the staff at The Unofficial Guides bring you yet another installment of their ever-popular series with The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2010. With tips and advice on every aspect of your trip, ranging from travel, lodging, and dining to the theme parks and even the surrounding area, you'll find everything you need to know about your destination tucked inside its pages. There are thorough descriptions of every Disney World hotel, dining establishment, theme park, and attraction plus consumer ratings and reviews for each. Most notably, this Disney guide discusses the value of using a "touring plan" as a method of experiencing everything the resort has to offer in the most efficient way possible. Several sample touring plans, printed on tear-out pages, are included for your convenience.
A word of warning ... if you're looking for a book that will add to your mounting excitement about Disney, then you may find this particular travel guide a bit disappointing. Since it is a completely unbiased review of Walt Disney World, there are some unfavorable comments about various parts of the resort, which may not be to your liking. Still, it is excellent and all-inclusive. I have a copy of this book myself and I would highly recommend it to anyone as an ultra-complete vacation planning resource.

List Price: $22.95
With 19 four and five-star customer reviews, this niche Disney guide book is a well-regarded planning resource for the WDW resort. Released in 2007, this book contains valuable information, including planning advice, touring tips, and even ride photos, for any guest traveling with a disability. One reader labeled this guide "an enabler" because of the freedom and sense of security that it conveys. It is also important to note that this resource isn't intended strictly for those with serious disabilities as it covers multiple ailments, including allergies and motion sickness.

This travel guide is a wealth of information for anyone with disabilities or special needs, ranging from individuals in wheelchairs to families with autistic or ADD children, as well as anyone with special dietary needs and even nursing mothers. Learn about the devices for the hearing and vision-impaired, assistance for children with special needs, translation devices available in six languages, and special ride accommodations for individuals with physical impairments.
Based on customer reviews, this resource appears to be directed more toward Walt Disney World than the Disney Cruise Line. There have been complaints that there isn't enough detail given about special accommodations for cruise guests.

The Unofficial Disneyland Guide Book

Save over 30% on The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2010
The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2010 may not boast the popularity of its WDW counterpart, but this Disney travel guide is still every bit as useful and detailed. Here you will find expert advice for planning every aspect of your upcoming trip. From making travel arrangements, lodging and dining reservations to mapping out your park itinerary, this is one Disneyland travel guide you do not want to be without. Also included are reviews of every hotel, restaurant, and attraction located in the area surrounding the resort, enabling guests to make an informed decision about where to stay, dine, and whether to engage in some southern California sightseeing. In addition to all of this, there are several touring plans conveniently included that will help guests to make the most of their time by visiting attractions in the most efficient way possible.
I have used this guide myself and I was very impressed with the attention to detail and the amount of practical advice included. I only wish I had bought the book earlier in our planning because the authors mentioned several money-saving strategies that I was not aware of. I highly recommend this guide book to anyone planning a trip to California's Disneyland Resort, regardless of the length of your visit.
One last note ... I feel compelled to mention that some people, including myself, have been put off by the somber tone of the book. Since it is written from an unbiased perspective, there are comments within that might be considered derogatory of Disney. This, of course, might not be what you'd like to hear when planning a trip such as this. However, it's important to note that such advice really aids in the planning process by allowing you to prepare yourself for rides that aren't up to par or restaurants that are all atmosphere and no culinary delight. So, take the advice contained in this book for what it's worth. You'll be better for it.

PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call
If you've never been on a cruise, much less a Disney cruise, then having a thoroughly detailed and respected guide book is a must, if only to conquer your uncertainty about the upcoming trip. Unfortunately, there are very few such travel guides available, and even fewer are considered worthy of recommendation. One Disney cruise planner that does indeed measure up is the Disney Cruise Passporter. In fact, it seems that many other books pale in comparison to this one because Passporter's Disney Cruise Line is the only Disney cruise guide to receive almost all five-star ratings.
Continuing the tradition of excellence, this branch of the Passporter's travel guide series offers detailed information about the entire Disney cruise line and its ports, including both the Caribbean Disney cruise and the Mediterranean and Northern European itineraries as well. Throughout the book, readers will find quality planning and itinerary advice in the form of restaurant menus, deck plans, and descriptions of on-board activities and stopovers. Whether traveling with or without children, Disney cruises have something for everyone and you can learn all about it in the Passporter. As an added bonus, there are almost 100 photos included to help you visualize your trip, and an assortment of over 20 maps, charts, and worksheets with which guests can plan ahead. A perfect resource for both newby cruisers and veterans alike, the Disney Cruise Passporter is the ultimate Disney cruise planner.
Birnbaum Disney Cruise Guide 2009
The runner-up ... sort of.
Birnbaum Guides Disney Cruise Line 2009
Amazon Price: $6.94 (as of 05/28/2012)![]()
List Price: $13.95
If you're wondering why the 2009 version of Birnbaum's Disney Cruise travel guide is featured here, it's because the 2010 edition is receiving extremely poor ratings. Some customers have actually recommended that buyers purchase the previous release instead, as the current edition seems to lack updated information. The 2009 copy, however, is more highly rated, sporting several five-star ratings. So, if you are fan of Birnbaum Disney guide books and would like to use one of their resources in planning your Disney cruise, then I would suggest the 2009 edition shown here. Included are tips and advice for booking, preparing, and planning your trip. There are deck-by-deck details, descriptions of on-board activities and land excursions, and a breakdown of all there is to do for guests of all ages.

As you might imagine, there is quite a bit of information in this Paris travel guide devoted to the Disneyland Paris resort. It includes tips for planning your trip, traveling to the resort, getting oriented, and saving a few bucks. You will also find a map of the resort and information about the on-site hotels, ticket options, attractions, Fastpasses, and dining establishments.
