The Best Ways to Quit Smoking ...That Actually Work!

So you want to kick the habit and quit smoking for good? Have you tried time after time, only to start again after a few days?

I know what you're going through. I've been there myself but have now been smoking free for over a year. You can too!

How to quit smoking

The key to quitting is all about choosing the right method.

Now as you probably already know, there are several methods to quit. Each of these ways to quit smoking have there advantages and disadvantages. Some are better than others. We'll have a look at each one in a moment.

No matter which method you choose, it's really important to have the moral support of your family and friends. The more encouragement you have, the easier it will be to quit smoking once and for all.

Great Stuff To Help You Quit

Quit Smoking Method - Cold Turkey

This where a regular smoker simply stops with no intermediate steps been taken.

Individuals with a slow nicotine metabolism are more likely to succeed with this method. This is because their body does not absorb as much nicotine as someone with a high metabolism. Therefore their dependency is less, which makes this method to quit smoking easier for them.

Quit Smoking Method - Cutting Down

This is where the smoker slowly reduces the number of cigarettes they smoke each day.

In order to do this you need to set up your goals and stick to them!

You could aim to smoke 1 cigarette less per day, limit the amount you can smoke in a certain time frame or delay the time you smoke your 1st cigarette.

This method however is prone to relapse due to the individual still smoking. It only takes one night out or increased stress to break the set goals and your back to square one!

Quit Smoking Method - Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

This method helps reduce the craving and the desire to smoke. The brain has become accustomed to its daily dose of nicotine. A sudden withdrawal of its favourite drug will set the cravings into overdrive.

The way around this is to use a nicotine substitute. Many are available that include chewing gun, patches, sprays and tablets. These suppress the brains nicotine dependency by slowly reducing the dosage amount over a period of a few months.

Quit Smoking Method - Hypnosis and Self Help (NLP)

These methods are widely used around the world as an alternative to nicotine therapy.

Some require just one sitting while others require daily top ups. This is the best way to stop smoking without the use of drugs.

This is the one method that finally helped me quit smoking for good
