You know that if you are at your best weight, you are contributing to your best health. And that overweight is not healthy.

Losing weight forever is extremely difficult unless you have a diet that works for you. Not one that worked for your friend; one that works for you.

And a diet that works for you,is a weight loss plan that you can live with as long as you need to, to reach your best weight, and to keep it.

It may be that you will have to alter your lifestyle. If you are a junk food junkie, or a couch potato, then you know that lifestyle has to go. That just is not what you want.

To bring you success, the diet must be logical for the long term.

Could you eat grapefruit every day for the rest of your life? Or even for the next 3 months? Neither could I.

How long do you think it will take until you are sick of cabbage soup?

These diets are okay for the person who wants to drop only a few pounds. Good for shedding the results of that 3 day cruise with the wonderful buffets!

But, for the long haul. mmmm, I don't think so.

Best Weight tip #2 ... Choose a diet that is easy to follow.

Boy, is this true. Some diets are so complex, one would need the help of an engineer to figure them out. I'm sure you don't want to have to go back to school just to reach your best weight.

You count calories, count carbs, count fat, separate fats from carbs, separate types of fats, don't mix fats and carbs, some carbs are an exception, and on and on.

Oh, yeah, only eat fruit at certain times of the day.

Not gonna work for me, I can tell you that.

Do you have time to prepare specific recipes for each meal? I don't. And, we eat the leftovers the next day. There is no way I could roast a chicken on Monday and not serve the rest of it until Thursday. Not in my house.

And I don't have a personal trainer, nor a life planner, nor a walk-in cold storage, nor any of the other things I would need to help me handle all some diets think I should be doing. Do you?
