Episode 1 Recap

1. The opening teaser clips show:
   -Melanie asking Derwin to get over her abortion
   -Someone dead in Malik's garage
   -Jason Pitts married in Mexico
   The shock of these things make you wonder how these items will resolve. It was a good way to spark interest.
2. Melanie and Derwin leave the hospital discussing the abortion. Melanie does not want to discuss and walks off. She runs into Dr. McHottie from last season. It appears that he knew about her abortion. Derwin joins them. McHottie condescendingly asks Derwin to sign the Derwin Davis Nike Boom Shoe.
3. Jason is with Gloria (played by Selita Ebanks) in hotel. Gloria is working on the Quan Kirkland deal. Gloria tells Jason he has issues with black women. She accuses him of sleeping with her to get back at Camille.
4. Malik brings drunk Jenna into his house.
   There is a song "Without You" playing in the background
5. Melanie and Derwin are home in the kitchen. Derwin apologizes to Melanie for letting her get an abortion during college and abandoning her. Melanie does not tell him the baby wasn't his.
6. Tasha Mack cries in the hallway when Tee Tee arrives with chicken wings. Tasha is mad that she dropped Derwin as a client and took back Malik
7. Jason meets Chardonnay (played by Brandy Norwood) the bartender at a bar. He insults her for her sarcasm, complains to the manager and she is fired
8. Melanie and Derwin run into Trey Wiggs (Melanie's ex) and family and invite him to DJs party.
9. Marissa (played by Jennifer Coolidge) is Jenna's personal concierge, aka, drug supplier. She arrives at Malik's house to revive Jenna and collect thousands of dollars owed to her. She is the actress who played the nail tech in the movie Legally Blonde. She was entertaining.
10. Jason learns that his daughter Britney is dating a caucasian boy and is bothered by it because Britney says that she learned not to date black people from him.
    
    They brought back the same girl from season 4 to play Britney. Its fine with me. I thought she did a good job.
11. Tasha tells Malik to send Jenna to rehab. Malik refuses at first and then agrees. Tee Tee tells Tasha to drop Malik as a client and go back to Derwin. Tasha declares that she is going to keep family first and continue to represent Malik. Tasha talked about how her and Malik's life changed when Malik went pro. Their theme song was Whitney Houston's My Love Is Your Love.
12. Melanie finally confesses to Derwin that the abortion didn't happen in college and that the baby belonged to Trey Wiggs. Melanie vows to be truthful. Derwin is furious. He eventually forgives Melanie. Yet he unleashes his frustration on Trey Wiggs. The last item in this list explains further.
13. Jason apologizes to Chardonnay, they have dinner, get drunk and get married in Mexico. Jason reveals to Chardonnay that the reason he doesn't date black girls is because they always made fun of him until they found out he was rich.
14. Melanie and Derwin hosts DJ's party. It was heart warming to see the men interacting with little DJ. Trey Wiggs arrives to the party and Derwin punched him out.
15. Tasha and Melanie are still not on speaking terms. Melanie repeatedly asks Derwin about Tasha and Derwin tells her that Tasha isn't planning to attend the party. Melanie is disappointed.
