I'm so glad you decided to stop by to learn more about me. I joined Squidoo in August, 2009. Since then, I have created 86 lenses, became a Giant Squid and a SquidAngel, won an award for the 'Best How-to & DIY' lens (How To Cook Healthy) in the December, 2009 Giant Squid Challenge, and received a Purple Star for my Operating Room Nurse lens and How To Cook Healthy.

What Is A Giant Squid?

Not The One In The Ocean

I became a Giant Squid in December, 2009. So, what is a Giant Squid, you ask? Giant Squids is a VIP program for lensmasters. You have to earn your membership and maintain your status. Another lensmaster (SquidAngel or Giant Squid) will see something extraordinary in your work and nominate you. You'll receive an email saying, "We've Got Our Eye On You". Enter the Giant Squid Challenge. Challenges are run quarterly. Keep writing those terrific lenses and post them in the challenge. Each week has a specific assignment. You don't have to do them all, but do as many as you can. You need 50 exceptional lenses to apply for Giant Squid. You don't have to reach 50 in your first challenge. Keep making quality lenses and participate in the challenges until you reach that magic number.

Who The Heck Are The SquidAngels?

You'll Want To Know Them

SquidAngels are dedicated lensmasters who volunteer to read and bring great, passionate, and well-constructed lenses into the spotlight. Receiving "angel dust" gives your lens a little boost in lensrank for a short time. Angels also have the ability to "ding" incomplete and junk lenses. I became a SquidAngel in January, 2010. I have read so many great lenses. You'll find them in my SquidAngel lensography. I have also had many lenses blessed by other SquidAngels.

I'm An Operating Room Nurse

Registered Nurse

I started in nursing in 1972 as a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and started working in the operating room in 1980. I went back to school and got an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1994. I passed the NCLEX-RN exam in January, 1995. I worked for a while in Home Health, but missed the operating room. I started back in the OR in 1998 and am still there today. I love being a nurse and the OR. Here are my lenses about nursing.

Best Of All, I'm A Mom

Meet My Daughter, Kelly

Kelly & RonI have been blessed with one of the greatest daughters in the world. Her name is Kelly and she has made me one proud mother. She lives in Florida and I miss her terribly everyday. I am looking forward to the day when I move back to be close to her.

Kelly works for a hospital organization called Baycare. She's a project manager in the IT department. She sets up and implements computer systems at the hospitals in the organization. I knew a long time ago that she wouldn't follow my footsteps as a nurse, but at least she is in healthcare.

She has a great boyfriend, named Ron. I'm so happy she has finally found happiness and love. Ron is a really great guy and her trusted companion. It's is hard to find a relationship like theirs and I am so proud of them.

No grandchildren yet, but hopefully one day.
