Broadway's Latino Stars Learn CPR!

Northstar Academy Joins the Be the Beat Team!
Check out the latest school joining the Be the Beat community!
Northstar Academy in Richmond, Virginia has initiated a new school wide program called "The Safe Heart." They took the information and skills taught on www.bethebeat.heart.org and used the American Heart Association's Friends & Family CPR Anytime Kits to teach students ranging from elementary school all the way to 12th grade!
Students in grades 6-12 learned how to perform Traditional CPR during Health class, while the elementary school students used the kits to learn Hands-Only CPR as well as other lifesaving skills!
After the trainings, students were even allowed to check out the kits and take them home to train members of their community! The trainings were so effective, that a local Parochial School invited Northstar students to come and train their students in CPR!
Northstar Academy's school nurse, Angelina Gibson, says, "Our Northstar students genuinely enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to share their "Safe Heart" knowledge."
How great is that!
