The cheap way is to buy the vacation feeder which is available in packs of 7 days and packs of 14 days. Only thing is better move your fish to a bigger bowl in case the water gets cloudy.

Another way is to buy a fish feeder with timer that can feed your fish each day with a timer to set.

This fish thrive in small puddles of water that exist in paddy fields... Their fins and build are made to swim in still water.

Some may argue that having a waterpump is better , while it is true that they can live in water that is streaming or big aquariums with airpumps. But their body and especially the fins is not built to withstand streaming water. Its better to simulate their natural environment. They are happy to live in a smaller living environment where the water is stagnant. Having said that , its cruel to keep it in a bowl as big as your fist, but a goldfish bowl is acceptable.

The only thing that matters is that the betta fish have clean water, fed well , not too much lighting , the bowl isn't too cramped, with some vegetation included in the environment.

Also remember not to put male and male together or they will fight to death!
