Betta Tail Types
This'll be a shorter lens in conjunction with my longer betta breeding and betta care lenses. Here we'll find out what the betta types are as there's tons out there! It's awesome I must tell you:) The normal lay person only sees the bettas that are in the pet stores or walmart in the little cups and they are beautiful, but when i have even pet store fish workers (customer service people, sorry) tell me they've never heard of a halfmoon or a plakat, well that just leads me back here:) So let's find out the awesome-ness that is the betta types!
(also don't get me started on the colors...just think every color there ever was known to man, every combination of those colors and even ones we don't know about!)

Tail Types Intro
Greetings and welcome! This'll be a shorter lens with fun stuff on it, but mostly having to do with the different tail types of bettas. I tell you there are more of them than even I thought once I started to research this! And this is only talking about the domesticated ones...there's tons more with the wilds! (got to do a lens on those too!!! LOL) So, here's a bit about each....in my own words of course:)These pictures are all here from approval of their author. please do not remove any of them. The watermarks are their forum name from either the UltimateBettas or the BettaBreeders. Thanks!

~~~ Veil Tail ~~~
These are the ones you generally see at Walmart and pet stores in the little *gulp* cups. They have long flowing fins that taper to a small rounded end or point.

~~~ Crown Tail ~~~
These have long pointed tips called rays. They can be single with one point or double or even more! The doubles have 2 little points at the end of each ray.

Short finned version of the regular betta

Tail has a full 180 degree arch to be a good hm.

~~~ Round Tail ~~~
The round tails are easy to confuse with the plakats. These are generally considered the "wild" form of the bettas.

A true double tail is one where there are two distinct tails and not just a split in a single tail

D shaped tail, held high, with wide spread but less than 180 degrees of the halfmoons

The tails rays stick out a bit beyond the webbing of the tail, though not as much as the crowntail.
~~~ Spade Tail ~~~
Tail has a wide base that narrows to a point, like a spade.

These are very rare, all the fins are fused together to form one big fin. (top, bottom and tail)

These have a partially fused twin tail fin that gives them their heart shape.
