My struggle with presentations

Fear of public speaking

PresentationI was one of the three out of four individuals who would suffer from speech anxiety while giving a presentations. It made my presentations lackluster as it became increasingly difficult to convey the material that my colleagues and I had worked so hard to prepare to the audience. My boss would get upset and all I could do was apologize and promise to do better the next time. I knew presentation coaches and public speaking coaches would be very expensive so I needed a reliable method to help me that was also affordable. I came across this book on effective public speaking and presentations and it changed my life. Since reading this book I have given shining presentations, received promotions, have become well respected in the office, and have given moving speeches at weddings and parties.

The secret to effective presentations

Public speaking and presentation tips

The Secret of Public Speaking and Effective PresentationsThe first thing you need to present effectively is confidence. Confidence is key. Second write out the speech you plan to present and go over it a few times so even if you don't have the speech in front of you when your present you know the main points of your speech making you feel confident. Third dress the part. Being nicely dressed boost confidence. When the presentation begins walk to the center of the floor, then speak loudly and deliberately. This portrays confidence which engages the audience. Last don't use the power point as an aid for you, this makes it seem as if you don't know what you're going to say. Use the powerpoint as a visual for the audience so they know the main points of the speech even if they miss a sentence or two. These are just the fundamentals to having an effective presentation. There are many more nuances to learn to make presentations more effective it just takes some guidance and experience.
