Affiliate Advertising and the Internet
Affiliate Marketing is one of the biggest money making ventures on the Internet. Yeah, I know Google is worth about 10 billion dollars or so (maybe a little exaggeration), but how do you think Google makes all that dough? Yeah, you guessed it...advertising! And Yahoo? Right again...Advertising. Of course, I know affiliate marketers do not account for all or maybe not even most of those two giants advertising revenue streams, but when you consider an industry that grosses over "8 billion" annually, you have to stop and say, "yeah, a good portion of that is going to Google and Yahoo." Whatever the actual truth of the whole dag-gumb thing, a good portion of the Affiliate Marketing/Google advertising revenue is recycling right here on the Internet, for the most part. In fact, when you think about it, the same holds true for just about all of the Internet Marketing world.
All the biggest names in IM, have their Joint Ventures going on out there, and they pay the commissions as the bills come in, and the affiliates they pay in turn re-invest at least a portion of that money into advertising, with...you guessed it...Google, and the cycle starts all over again.
I do not pretend to be Joe guru...when it comes to Internet marketing. My name IS Joe, but not the guru part.
I am making my second go of this industry. I just finished up my 1st semester back at school after 25 years, and summer is here. Had to take a break from IM to focus the brain on my studies. After not being in school all those years it took a while to get back into the swing of things.
Internet Marketing is a blast. It is a lot of fun, but it is also a lot of work. Do not let anyone tell you differently. Until you get a system down, or unless you have a lot of up front coin, you have to hustle your butt off to make in roads. All the advertising I did was free. I made a little money, but I admit I made a lot of rookie mistakes too. If you jump from program to program you "WILL" struggle, or should I say, you will fail! Pick one that works for YOU, and stick with it. If it works "FOR" you, then it is a success, no matter what the program is. Are you selling doilies for yard furniture and making money? Then it is a success. That is the bottom line. I think the NUMBER ONE thing you must do is find what works for you, and run with it.
Something that is not so new any more, but is still huge in Internet Marketing are Blogs. There are almost countless blog sites out there for you to have a blog on. Of course the best way to have a blog is to host your own on your own web site with a blog on it, that way you can do it your way, make it as long as you want, write what ever you want, optimize it how ever you want (as long as you do it in a way that Google likes). The reason I say that about Google is because, when Google's spider's go crawling your site you want your keywords and tags to be done the correct way according to the most widely used search engine in the world.
If you are real savvy and experienced in the IM world, you might want to consider writing articles and submitting them to the various E-zine sites that sprinkle the web also. If you are good at writing and know what you are talking about you might even make some coin at it. But beware, don't even think of trying to submit someone else's copyrighted material as your own. You will be found out. And when you are, woe be unto you, because the Internet Gestapo will be knocking on your proverbial door...I actually have no idea if this is true, but I do know the E-zine sites have software and other methods in place to track copyrighted material and IP addresses of where the submitted material is coming from, so do your self a favor, learn to write your own stuff, or stay away from submitting articles!

I have re-committed myself to its content relevancy, and HTML rich content. It may take me a while to revamp this lens as HTML is not my strong suit. But I am determined to learn it as the language of the Internet can only increase popularity of lenses, and in so doing, increase rating, click through's, and so on.

In just five days time the "Challenge" will kick off in earnest, and it is with out a doubt, bigger and better than ever. I know I couldn't put into the proper perspective the amount of work and dedication Ed Dale, Dan Raine, and the gang have put into the 30 Day Challenge over the years. This may sound corny, but it is a bit humbling considering that they are who they are in this industry.
Yeah...maybe the 30 day Challenge has given a boost to their exposure, and has caused them to become more widely known than they otherwise would have been had they not done the "Challenge". Somehow though, I SERIOUSLY doubt that.
Talent is talent, and when you have it, and know how to put it out there good things happen. Ed and Dan have worked hard for their success and have given so much of their success back to others in the form of The 30 day Challenge.
This year The 30 Day Challenge will be utilizing the awesome Flock Browser in lieu of Firefox. Though Firefox is a great, and secure browser, the Flock browser is designed as a Social & Networking browser.
The actual kick-off is just a few days away, on August 1st. Now, you might say, "Wow, that was a big gap of time between the pre-launch and the actual launch date."
But it really wasn't, you see, during these last 60 days, you should have been, or could have been getting caught up with what happened in last years 30 DC (which would be a brilliant move on your part) or you could have just headed on over to the site HERE and come up to speed with whats been happening in the run-up to this years challenge. But there is plenty to keep you busy between now and the kick-off, but you better hurry, because, well...there is quite a bit of ground to cover in four or five days between now and August 1st. The third little banner represents a somewhat new money exchange that, at the moment is relatively limited in what it will allow you to do with the funds you have there. For example, when you join, you are given $25 in your account. I tried to transfer those funds to Paypal...not happening, and in retrospect, that makes perfect sense from their stand point, in that, if everyone did that they would go Kaput in no time. But I couldn't use those funds for what I wanted, and I needed them where I could use them. Basically those funds are not doing me any good sitting in that account...so there it is. I'm sure they'll relax their restrictions as time goes on and they are more stable, but for now it is what it is.

1-USD-Mail.com starts you off with a $20.00 bonus and .50 (50 cent) emails. That is a program that will add up fast.
Beyond that, they mostly have a certain threshold for payout, but there are some that do not have that threshold. These are just a few of the questions that need answers before you commit to a program. I for one first check how long they have been around. But that's just me.
Every once in a while you come across programs that have people in their support teams that just can't be bothered with those that they are there to help. That was the case recently with a program that I used rather frequently until I received an email from THEM about a supposed prize of $400. After I contacted the support team at No-Minimum they told to go "ask the scammer who sent it to me." When I informed him that the email came from them because I had to sign "INTO" my account to progress through the process, I was told to "get a life." And I was accused of abusing them. I can tell you, after that particular "get a life" email all bets were off and I did indeed sort of lose my cool. To make a long story short; No-Minimum is staffed by un-professional, immature individuals you may not want to do business with.
I would never endorse or encourage people to sign up for programs for money, and I will tell you why:
When you sign up for any program and expect to get paid to do so, you are, in return expected to "pay" to sign up for that program. Though you can cancel within a certain amount of time and NOT have your credit card charged there is a certain way you must go about it that involves cookies and deleting them before you go to each site, and as far as I'm concerned, that involves too much hanky-panky, and you are inviting disaster. I've tried it once, and I got confused with all the cookie deleting I had to do. (I'm not a dummy either). Again...thats just my review of that type of program. They obviously do work for many people because the programs are still out there, I just don't like playing Russian Roulette with my credit card like that.
Getting back to Pay to click or read; these sites are mostly free. You won't make as much and it takes longer, but the trick is to get several sites going at the same time so that the money adds up faster, and the payouts eventually begin to overlap one another.

You have to want to do this in the first place. I think it takes a certain amount of commitment to succeed at pay per click because you need several programs going at the same time. You also need an email that you don't mind receiving a lot of email at, because you are going to get a lot of mail with ads to click on.
Well, there you go. Have at it. There are quite a few pay per click programs out there I will list the ons I use below, but obviously there are many other good ones also. Try them out, be selective. People are different, with different likes and dislikes. What works for me may not work for you, and vice versa.
